That bottom photo ,never seen PCs goal from that view Thanks for the flashback . There was a good 50+ mob of chelsea all drinking in donny before

that game from early doors . I put 2 and 2 together about logistics on how all and sundry would Get to the game since its a 40 train journey to Sheffield ,then you have to Get to hillsboro .

I laid a coach on from the Rockingham Arms in donny direct to hillsboro and we was all back in the Rockingham Arms after the game with extra time added  but for life of me cant recall how we got back .

I've been sent a load of pictures of the ground some have been posted before probably but there might be a sizing issue ooh err missus so I'm going to post one and see how it looks before posting others. Edit they look ok.👍

I went in a car with four other lads from Basingstoke. Terrific game! Maybe the best I've ever seen. We stopped at a pub outside Sheffield after the game and had a good drink with the locals, great day out!

If my memory is correct there was about 5000 chelsea up for that game . The seats in leppings lane were all full and then two or three pens infront of leppings land was 3/4 full ?

So you dont think that Bates did not do a good job saving Stamford Bridge Grounds and getting Mears and Co off the board  who if iam correct wanted to

sell SB due to its High vaule in SW6 .

I cant quite understand why anyone should have grips with Bates over spuds ? Saying that iam not into farming and things like that tbh

It was the property market crash that saved us. Marler, the owners went bust and the Bank of Scotland took control...

Bates best move was the Pitch owners scheme, which ultimately prevented Roman from building a new stadium away from our home.

I was going to mention the pitch owners but i could not recall if that was Bates that rolled that out . Thanks for clearing things up for us somewhat fella

No offence mate but I have absolutely no idea what your on about

What a contrast Boro play off fans in the sectioned off bit a few weeks later the Shed empty. When the terraces were opened again we beat Plymouth 5-0 only 12,000 there but after the game we went to the White Hart there was a massive sing-song lasted a couple of hours it was all good natured but the governor called the old bill cause we were standing on the furniture and a few glasses were smashed still the best day I've had supporting Chelsea real hardcore CFC.

Above those  enterance to the turnstyles on the white background above the door  i swear i would see a Paris St germain PSG sticker .

It was of red/ blue/ white in colour about the size of a fist .

On Saturday I attended a Special General Meeting (SGM) of the Chelsea Supporters Trust (CST). Just over 100 people attended the meeting by Zoom. There was a brief by the CST Board about meetings with the club over the redevelopment of the ground (nothing to report), the dismissal of Frank (the day after he left the CST board met the club and expressed their unhappiness about his departure) and the return of fans to the club. One comment made was about a sabbatical been given to ST holders and members who do not wish to return to games until they feel safe to do so.

However, nearly all of the SGM was given over to a Q and A with Pat Nevin. Pat has a book coming out on 20 May. Details below. In the Q and A Pat mentioned that some Waterstones book shops will have signed copies. At the end of the SGM there was a raffle (each attendee was given a number) and the winner received a signed copy of the book.

Pat answered questions for over two hours and could have spoken for longer. It was a great meeting and Pat told some great stories about his time at Chelsea, his interest in music and his media work. Pat was very up front and straight with his answers and told some great stories. Too many to mention here but here are a few. Some of you may have already home heard them. I no particular order: just as I remember them.

Joe McLaughlin knocking out David Speedie. There were mentions of a few people who had fights with Speedie. I guess it's like any place of work. You don't have to like someone to work with them.

Taking Doug Rougvie to a gig in South London. Doug turned up in a Chelsea training outfit and was a bit bemused by the costumes others were wearing.

The mazy run against Newcastle. Pat said that if he had scored would it have been his second best goal. The best being one he scored for Clyde.

Ian McNeill handing out nips of whisky and John McNaught having a bit too much.

A difference of opinion with Ernie Whalley about the style of play.

Pat loved us fans and the atmosphere we created. Mentioned the game at Grimsby in particular. He told of when he went to a game between Chelsea and Everton and had to decide which fans to join. He chose us and his name was sung by the fans.

He hopes to get back to being a DJ in due course. He also showed some of the shirts he has acquired over the years including the one from that season.

Pat bumps into some of the guys he played with from time to time when they're back at the Bridge.

All in all a great time. If I think of anything else will post on here.
