November 19, 201411 yr I know I don't trust critics on film reviews. So many films have been written off by critics to become hugely popular. But there are fan boy type people who will vote 0 or 10 without any thinking being put into it.
November 20, 201411 yr Skyrim was fantastic too. Mostly for it's depth and scope. Origins has some of the best character development, plots and DLC I've ever seen. The music is top notch. I really enjoyed the combat and people that enjoyed other strategic RPGs like KOTOR and such generally agree. To call it amateurish makes you look stupid. I bet you hardly played it. I thought you were referring to Inquisition, which I have played several hours of.
November 20, 201411 yr As an overall though I find user ratings better. If there were 10 critics who gave an average 8/10, and 100 users with an average 3/10, which would you trust more? Critics are often paid to write specific things. I would trust the critics. Users exaggerate enormously. They give 1s and 0s for perhaps something that will be tweaked in a patch the next week. Awful, especially MetaCritic. Not to mention "Muh game hasn't arrived yet1!! I'm rate 0!". Edited November 20, 201411 yr by JoeyN
November 20, 201411 yr Agree with Joey and Richard, so many votes are bullsh*t because of some daft little thing, you can't really trust them. Spend 10 minutes on neogaf to see mental fanboys in action. Da:i is brilliant in my opinion, very similar to skyrim in its open world style, and the pc version must be very different to console as the graphics are excellent on Xbox one, and the battles certainly aren't click fests when you use the tactical screen.
November 20, 201411 yr Playing through Origins now, didn't like it at first but I'm starting to really enjoy it. It's a little bit linear for my liking, but the whole choice-consequence side of the game is excellent. Hopefully will finish the story soon enough and then make a start on DA2. DA2 is average, but still worth playing.
November 20, 201411 yr Yeah, DA2 isnt great but its worth a play through if you have the time. If you dont have the time then you can go to dragons age keep and make your story choices there. Also, theres a mini game on the site that gets you 3 Red lythium weapons, a sword, a dagger and a staff. Worth a quick blast.
November 20, 201411 yr Midnight release tonight. Can continue my save too. Edited November 20, 201411 yr by JoeyN
November 20, 201411 yr Played Origins a few months go, shocked at how bad the graphics were. It didn't age well. I actually liked DA2, mainly for the battle system, story wasn't as bad as people make out. Only thing I really hated was the side quests, most of them were really boring.
November 20, 201411 yr Midnight release tonight. Can continue my save too. Yeah, pretty pissed of as I thought it was the 18th... Silly me.
November 20, 201411 yr Personally don't understand how people can be so reliant on graphics. Knowing that Super Mario Bros 3 is probably still the best game ever made puts it into perspective. Could happily play it now.
November 20, 201411 yr Anyone got any ways of importing my Dragon Age Keep into my PS4? I can't seem to get it to load it up and am stuck with the default storyline which I don't want.

Could happily play it now. Because people pay over £300 for a console so expect the best visuals possible for that hardware, it's pretty obvious

Could happily play it now. Wasn't so much that I was reliant on it, most of my favorite RPG games have pretty awful graphics by today's standards, it's just I was really surprised at how much of a difference it was. I remember playing Origins when it came out and being blown away, looking at it now after not playing it for so long was horrible. I don't recall other RPG's released around the same time as Origins aging as badly, maybe that's just me though. Edited November 20, 201411 yr by Remodez
November 20, 201411 yr Because people pay over £300 for a console so expect the best visuals possible for that hardware, it's pretty obvious Yes, but when they ignore the quality of the game play, it becomes tedious and plain ignorant of gaming in general.
November 20, 201411 yr Yes, but when they ignore the quality of the game play, it becomes tedious and plain ignorant of gaming in general. In this day and age quality visuals and gameplay should really go together. I wouldn't play a game I found ugly on the eye no matter how good the gameplay.
November 21, 201411 yr In this day and age quality visuals and gameplay should really go together. I wouldn't play a game I found ugly on the eye no matter how good the gameplay. Indeed. The new GTA V being a great example of brilliant graphics and superb gameplay. I was driving down the highway when it started to rain, and it looked so goddamn good that I stopped, got out of the car and just watched the rain drops fall into a puddle on the ground. Unbelievable graphics, it looked like real life rain!
November 21, 201411 yr I'm going to get Far Cry 3 on my 360. The reviews are great and I can pick it up for a few quid, before seeing whether I want Far Cry 4.

I praised Far Cry 3 to the heavens on my blog . It's a fantastic open world game, very unpredictable gameplay thanks to the ecosystem. Edited November 21, 201411 yr by Blueblur
November 21, 201411 yr How you liking UFC Uno? I played WWE2k15 on my brothers Xboxone last night and it plays very well and visually is pretty damn impressive. He got the one with Sting DLC free but says the season pass is a fortune (to get all the DLC wrestlers)!

November 21, 201411 yr Yes, but when they ignore the quality of the game play, it becomes tedious and plain ignorant of gaming in general. Exactly my thinking, the gameplay is much more important than visuals to me, always has been. One of my favourite next gen games so far was Max:the curse of brotherhood, a lovely little puzzler with nothing like next gen graphics. If I wanted top graphics I would buy a sh*t hot PC.
November 21, 201411 yr One of my favourite games has always been Age of Empires The Rise of Rome (1998). Played it online till recently. The graphics left a lot to be desired, but it was a great game, so it didn't matter. I think RFC_CFC just meant if you buy a next-gen console for £400 you're going to expect a certain level of graphics though.
