Fair bit of backlash being aimed at Assassin's Creed within the comments section over on IGN.

 

Micro-transactions are littered throughout the game apparently and there's quite a few bugs and glitches such as huge frame rate drops. 

 

Right now I've lost a lot of interest in the game and will hold out for Far Cry 4 instead, as long as the reviews are positive for that I'll be getting it and might pick up Lego Batman 3 rather than Assassin's Creed. 

 

 

 

 

In other news Bloodborne has been pushed back by three weeks to the beginning of March next year.... Booooo! Probably means I'll definitely be getting The Order now. 

Buzzin. Pes 2015 arrived today - a day ahead of releaae date thanks to Shop To. Just got in from work and won't be able to play till 9ish tonight. Will let you know my thoughts.

Dragon Age Inquisiton is getting fantastic reviews (9/10s all over the board).

Well played a couple of games of PES 2015 and I really like it. The passing,the movement,the toned down/realistic approach is fantastic. Really enjoyable finding spaces and using players movement to gain advantage. Where it lets itself down is definitely in its presentation. The graphics still don't look fantastic and the players look abit like a cartoon.

Overall, really enjoyable game. I know FIFA have all the kits etc but I find PES gameplay more enjoyable. Each to their own I guess.

I heard recently that The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask was getting a re-release on 3DS, which reminded me it's one of the few Zelda games I never played. I don't have a 3DS so I downloaded the virtual console version from the Wii store and f**k me it's brilliant. The music, the innovative use of time as a gameplay mechanic, the visual design (although technically the graphics haven't aged well). By contrast I also started playing GTA5 recently and it more or less confirmed why I have very little interest in modern mainstream gaming.

Jesus, that AC unity is all over the place. Read a few things and it seems its glitchy as hell with all kinds of frame rate problems. 

Games these days just aren't what they used to be. Because developers know they can roll out fixes whenever they want to most games, there is less quality control for the launch product. I rarely buy games as soon as they are out anymore.

In many ways, a superior game to OoT. Only 4 temples but they are as challenging as ever. Being able to transform yourself with the masks is so much fun, especially when you're a Zora, splashing about at Great Bay!

And to think, players had to buy an Expansion Pack to be able to play this on the N64, whereas now it's all on a handheld. Amazing.

 

Oot was a game-changer, but once you defeated Ganon there was nothing much to do, apart from collect the Skulltulas and get the Biggoron sword, if you didn't already have it. MM had so much more to offer. 

 

I'm definitely getting MM for my 3DS, I've not played it much lately.

 

Also, has anyone seen the 8 min launch trailer for Far Cry 4? It looks insanely good.

Have you played A Link Between Worlds? That's another Zelda game that passed me by on account of not owning a 3DS. I'm thinking now I might be better off getting a second hand 3DS and playing A Link Between Worlds first then getting the new improved Majora's Mask when it comes out. I'm only a few hours into MM and didn't pay for it so I'd be fine with shelving it for a while, especially as they say the newer MM will be more than just a graphical improved port.

Pre-ordered mine yesterday. Amazon says it's gonna arrive on my doorstep on the day of release (this Tuesday). Can't wait! Buy it!

That's a good restrospective, I'm not too familiar with the pre-OOT Zeldas so the bits about the earlier games were interesting (especially the Gameboy Color titles) and they can probably be obtained quite easily for emulators now.

 

I had a look for a second hand 3DS but they're a bit more expensive than I was expecting so I might just wait and see if Santa brings me one.

If you shop there regularly you get dicounts on games. I'm getting it for £35 for PS4, also got PES for £30 odd on Wedensday.

I have always used them, always give you the titles a day before they get released.

Amazon say day 1 release but I've been stung a few times with them.

Ah ok. Never used Shopto before. Simplygames are good, got COD:AW for £36 and it arrived two days after I ordered it. Luckily Amazon have never let me down with day 1 releases....yet.

I've used shopto and simplygames in the past. Both very good for delivery and price.
