Best ever away performance.
For once under Ranieri (before 2003), everything went right. Considering Manchester United were in their insufferable winning nearly every Premier League to beat that team 3-0 away was a fantastic feeling. Especially being the lone Chelsea fan! The greatest performance for me is the Barca game away. Don't think we'll ever see anything like it again for a long time!

André Schürrle to leave in January?
To be honest I think we'll get about £20M for him, I can't see anyone paying £30 million for him. I do like Schurrle but as many have said here, Reus is the superior player.

Selfie Sticks Banned
Fantastic news. Was in Rome and they're everywhere, can't go a minute without hearing "selfie, you want selfie?" grrr

Lionel Messi
Still think it's a power play by Messi, however I've had my dreams crushed by forwards I've always admired coming here and flopping like the obvious Torres and more for myself Shevchenko to build up much hope. Would love to be proved wrong though. Would he be able to do it on a cold night in Stoke is the question though....

Jose would have made me great
One of my favourite seasons growing up. Remember the controversy Wisey caused when he bit Marcelino! Shame, I thought Laudrup would have been a fantastic addition to our squad but with the benifit of hindsight, he was on the decline. Not sure Casiraghi would have scored enough goals but he would have been useful to go with Flo, Zola and to a lesser extent Vialli. As you say, it probably is one of the biggest "what if" seasons in our history.

New book on Chelsea's Champions League winning season 2011/12
That's a fantastic website as it has all of the results in one place and easy to find them all. Cheers!

Jose would have made me great
I bet he would have loved some of our players from the Gullit/Vialli era. Di Matteo, Wise and Poyet :) Do people think he would have won the league in 1998/99 if he was in charge? It kind of mirrors our season last season where we didn't have enough goals from our strikers. One of the first players that he showed the door to was Gronkjaer, there would have been some exasperated looks in the dugout for sure.

Thanks you so much! That'll make life a lot easier for the older seasons. I'll update the 2011/12 book when I get time.

A few years too late... Imagine the mass shirt burnings, you'd be able to see Liverpool from space!

New book on Chelsea's Champions League winning season 2011/12
Many thanks for the thoughts you have given to my book. Hopefully I did justice to the last chapter. It was a difficult write up to get right. I'm not sure about taking away the scores as we already know the scores as fans, though perhaps we might try to forget some.... League table summary is something I will be adding to the next book which actually will be on the 2004/5 season and then perhaps I might do this season afterwards. It is difficult to find tables from the time periods though. This season would be good to do, have to see how it pans out and time, got other books in the pipeline on history and theology to finish still. If you can, a review on Amazon would be fantastic, so far there isn't one and they are almost worth as much as buys to me (and other authors). Many thanks for your kind words and i'll be implementing all the ideas that have been generated in our discussion.

Nemanja Matic - Great Player?
Imagine what hypothetically what the "Torres of Liverpool" would be worth now and shudder... Matic has been fantastic, even from opposition fans mainly United and Liverpool, how much they'd love to have him in their side over Hazard and Costa. He's been one of the best signings we've had in a long time.

Schalke 04 vs Chelsea (CL) 25/11/14 KO - 19:45
Fantastic 1st half. Hope they can keep it up when they make the changes. No one is going to want us in the knockouts!

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
One of Mikel's best games was against Bayern in the final in my opinion. He can be an influential player but its so rare, usually he just coasts. If Fabregas or Matic got injured then the replacements (Ramires, Mikel) would struggle to have the same effect.

Ex-Players You Would Like to See at the Club
That would be amusing in the extreme (if he were to return as a scout). You can find one of his reports here. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/8591763/How-Andre-Villas-Boas-scouting-reports-helped-Chelsea-to-a-3-0-win-over-Newcastle-in-November-2005.html Wasn't Shevchenko going to be returning as striking coach at one point too?

New book on Chelsea's Champions League winning season 2011/12
The small difference in age may not have been the only factor in the breakdown of their relationship but it seems AVB couldn't escape with the senior players, the fact he was a scout previously and some still treated him that way. There was a massive breakdown before and after the Napoli game that would be facinating to hear about honestly from the parties involved.

What is Your Favourite Chelsea XI?
Cech Cole -Terry - Desailly - Petrescu Wise - Lampard Poyet (I know this will get some stick but he was my favourite player when I was growing up and I forgive him for what he did) Zola - Drogba - Gronkjaer (Yes, there's a lot better, my play was like his, probably not a compliment but still :) Subs. Cudicini, Carvalho, Le Saux, Essien, Ballack, Gudjohson, Crespo or Hasselbaink can't pick

New book on Chelsea's Champions League winning season 2011/12
He utterly implodes under the pressure. There was a sadness writing about him, he really believed in himself but started to slip and fall into a broken man by the end. I honestly think he was extremely depressed at the end of his time here. I tried to keep the book to quotable sources but if I didn't it would look a lot worse with the rumours going around about him sleeping at Cobham, players disrespecting him in training etc. That can't be proven. You might want to avoid the weeks before he gets sacked as he goes off on the deep end then.

Any game recommendation?
Anyone got any ways of importing my Dragon Age Keep into my PS4? I can't seem to get it to load it up and am stuck with the default storyline which I don't want.

Carlo Ancelotti - Chelsea's greatest ever manager?
Got a lot of apprication for Ancelotti, he contucted himself with class and dignity at all times at Chelsea. After his time with Belersconi, being under Abramovich must have been somewhat of a relief. Even with Ambramvich's interference in his second season in Wilkins and that January transfers window in 2011. Like Ranieri when ever he is on being interviewed it always brings back fond memories :)

New book on Chelsea's Champions League winning season 2011/12
I have been a long term lurker at this site but you're right and your opinion is perfectly valid and I can see where you're coming from. I do have to say that it is incredibly hard to try and get a book out to the masses of Chelsea fans with out bringing it to their attention directly. I have commented on other parts of this site, we don't have a game on since, so I can't speak there. Yes, I stand to make money from this but as I said before I will make a loss on it compared to the hours I could have done on overtime or extra shifts to get this done. I doubt i'll ever make more than a couple of days wages from this book at best. I made it for the Chelsea fans out there so they can actually have something to read about our Champions League winning season. It's not a 60 page book for £7.99 to cash in. It is an effort to be as through as possible and to bring back memories of that season and what we won. It took me 2 months to finish. Again if anyone is offended by this, I do apologise. It is not my intention to use and abuse this site's foundations for my own profit.

New book on Chelsea's Champions League winning season 2011/12
Done it seemed to be in the first half of the book, sadly I must have added my wrong spelling of his name to the dictionary. Still can't believe the performance he put in the Nou Camp. Where did he find that?
