Daylight, a first person Zombie game comes out in January. That looks interesting, shame its first person but a blook soaked Zombie game is always fun.

It looks like every other zombie/horror game out there, wouldn't call it interesting personally.

Far Cry 4 so far...wow.

First of all I was hit with a heavy sense of déjà-vu. All the stuff from FC3 is present and correct; radio tours, outposts, crafting etc.

But the addition of the mini helicopter thing and being able to RIDE elephants makes this a blast!

Storming an outpost of the back of one of those beasts and smashing people and cars out of your way with the trunk whilst simultaneously chucking grenades/firing your weapon is just soooo much fun!

Graphics are top notch, draw distance is mad. Such a good purchase for next gen consoles. Can't wait to try the co op next.

I downloaded that Minecraft.

 

It's sh*t. All I could do was run around punching grass to find seeds... 

Mine craft is so lame, I just don't get why the kids love it. Next gen consoles to play a 1980's looking game.

I'm getting Far Cry today after work. Really looking forward to playing it. I never player 2 or 3 so its a new series for me.

I'm not 100% keen on playing first person games. I find they make me feel abit queezy with all the movement.

Wow that's going to be a bit of a surprise for you then, if you've not played the other ones! I hope heights don't make you feel queezy too; you'll be quite high up a lot of the time, atop towers, using hang gliders and the gyropter....

Saw a video on youtube of FC4 where an eagle picks up a pig and flies off with it. 

Lots of weird and wonderful stuff happens in Far Cry. 

 

I recently got an elephant rifle, which when used against humble henchmen has fun result.... Especially if you shoot them next to a cliff edge. 

 

Dropping Molotov cocktails from a buzzard copter is a giggle too.  

Had a quick blast on Far Cry and it seems to play really well. The scenery is stunning. I've only played 10/15 mins so I'm very early on in the game.

I went for an online campign, not entirely sure what the difference is. Anyone explain?

No difference, apart from you can ask people to join your game and do co-op if you choose Online, as far as I'm aware. So far I've done Offline every time.

 

Some advice: start hunting and skinning animals as soon as possible. You'll need to upgrade your weapon holster so you can open up more weapon slots in your weapon wheel. I think it's the wolf pelts and tapir skins you need to unlock slots one and two.

Thanks for the tip. I've just come across hunting. I must say, it feels alot like Assassins Creed. The hunting, the way you see your enemies on the map, opening the map up - all very familiar.

COD AW is on sale at Amazon, £29 down from £40 if anyone is interested.

Can't wait for little big planet. It may look immature and cartoonish but I love creating levels and the creativity is amazing. Fun game

Never played LBP but I'm going to give it a try. Looks good.

Pretty close to finishing Far Cry 4 now. 

 

I have a couple of story quests left, maybe 10 or so of the side quests such as assassinations and hunting supplies and one fortress left to capture. 

 

I have about 5 more trophies to earn for the Platinum trophy as well.

 

Really enjoyed the game but once I've got my Platinum I will probably trade it in as I don't think there is much replay value for me having done my initial play through on hard anyway. 

Anyone else had issues saving the game? I played the first bit and got the tower, it did the checkpoint thing. I switched it off assuming that it had saved but it didn't. Tried a couple of other times but nothing. I've downloaded the patch but no luck.

I would assume you cannot save half way through a mission, you probably need to complete it. 

 

The checkpoint is during your current play-through but if you quit out of the game it will restart from your last save point not checkpoints.

Yep, you can't save half way through a mission. Once it's done, if you press Start/Options (depending on what console you're on) and go to Save & Quit just to be safe.

You're a bit of a monster though, aren't you? Whenever you get a game you always 100% it, get all the trophies and everything. I don't think I've ever done that!
