Preordered Dragon's Dogma 2 which comes out the 22nd. From all the vocations, that mystic spearhand looks filthy. 100% my choice. 

Going to get Rise or Ronin as well.

I'm eyeing up DD2 too, just watching some videos of that Mystic Spearhand thing and it looks insanely good.

Basically you can buy crystals to fast travel, and need to buy some in game thing to start a new character. I think you can get them in the game without paying, but they are rare.

I purchased the deluxe edition so I am stocked with crystals and a few other items. 

That's sh*tty though. 

Had an hour or so on it last night, really enjoyed it, though I ballsed up onto timed quest straight away because I had to turn it off to install all the reorder bonus stuff.

Yeah I like it. I’m a few hours in. Already got mystic spear hand vocation. 
 

Regarding buying the crystal and fast travel stuff, I think the developers did that to force exploration. Which I personally don’t mind as I prefer exploring. Died in so many caves. I do have an annoyance with the weight carry as I pick up everything I find, so when I’m on a big quest within 10 minutes my guy is overloaded and moving slow.  I love running into random NPCs and triggering a side quest vs it being labeled on the map. 
 

I am glad I got the deluxe edition though. Spent a bulk of my crystals on 2 high level mage pawns and they do the work for me or make me Superman.

Was fighting a cyclops and a Griffin came down and batter the living sh*t out of me ha ha....Not got to the next city yet, just clearing up the stuff in Vermund before i do the last main quests.

Mate, the game is merciless. 

Was fighting a Griffin, almost killed it and was on its back striking it, only for it to push me off a cliff where a pack of 8 wolves attacked me. Along with the wolves came 3 hobgoblins I had to also deal with. My main pawn died fighting the Griffin by itself. My two other pawns were helping me deal with the wolves and hobgoblins. A few minutes later, a f**king troll came out of no where and decided to join in on the fun, killing my two other pawns. It was then me against a Griffin, Troll, and the remaining wolves. 

I said f**k that and loaded the last checkpoint. 

I saw a tip to buy the house as early as possible as sleeping in it is the same as an Inn save, so I did that. Ive had to go back a few times as Ive had the same as you, just get mobbed.

Enjoying it though, its a sort of Skyrim light type of game.

Just got there, them rock bastards are horrible, and I've now got a Griffin stalking me.

Best way to make money is by attacking/killing those rock bastards. They drop loads of metallic medallions and you can sell them for 1200 a pop. 

Use lighting spells against it. 

My sorcerer pawn just used fire the d**khead.

Fallout tv show starts this week, looks amazing too, really captured the feel of the series.
