Heard Mafia Old Country has a great story but some upset with the linear progression. It isn’t open world.

Did anyone get involved in the battlefield beta? I thought it was really good, they lost my trust a bit with 2042 but it’s much improved. There’s been a lot of criticism that it’s gone towards call of duty but ultimately that’s the target demographic EA want. they’ll need to strike a balance between welcoming that audience and keeping their core base happy.

Got to it later on Saturday and yea, it feels like Battlefield 4, which I think was one of the best! Much prefer these to Cod as that series went on!

Yeah, it feels like it’s quite cyclical and CoD has definitely went backwards more and more with no real competitor. It feels a lot more like Fortnite nowadays than it used too when it felt relatively grounded. Nowadays it’s all cartoon skins etc. maybe I’m just old and grumpy - clearly people love it as it makes them millions of not billions still 😂.

It will be interesting to see if Battlefield is a success at launch if it has any impact on the CoD franchise! I agree, it is the best in a long time, hard to believe it’s been over a decade since 4!

Gears Remastered is a masterpiece.

I may have to try that. Great memories of the original - even better from 2 forward with Horde mode. Wish they’d bring that back!

Well from the Platinum trophy on PS5 having the description ‘Nothing left, for now…’ it strongly suggests they’ll be remastering the entire OG trilogy.

It’s just as good as you’ll remember but now in stunning 120FPS.

I’ve jumped back on the ladders with some mates, proper old school MLG vibes with it.

That’s great. Tv in our media room is somewhat capped at 60hz - need to upgrade that as not taking advantage of ps5 pro. Gonna check the game out this weekend though - will still look great, and who doesn’t love a bit of nostalgia

Not a game but I started listening to a newish podcast called button boys with Glenn Moore, Sarah Keyworth & Pierre Novellie last Saturday, had completely binged the whole thing & it reignited my passion for gaming. I need to join the patreon too!

There’s also a show coming up at the end of the month that Glenn’s hosting called The Audience vs… where audience members take on panellists in a random objective on a random game. The example they use is spawning in a random place in assassins creed syndicate then the person to find and climb Nelson’s Column the quickest wins. First two panellists are the other two off the podcast.

It’s at the Pleasance in London if anyone fancies it!

Ok I’ve started star wars outlaws because it’s knocking around the house. I cancelled my ps+ sub so it’s only games I can physically get my mots on for now!

Borderlands 4 is more borderlands, but open world and more guns and daftness.....love it.

Just pre-ordered the ROG Ally Xbox X, was hesitant but have a 12 hour flight to the Maldives coming up and I’ve the Arkham games ready to go.

20 mins in I wanted to quit and try to get a refund as I was getting my ass kicked against the first boss in the open world. I watched a beginner's guide and to my surprise you aren't actually supposed to fight him, but go past him to the church. 😄

Beginner's guide helped make sense of things and now I'm actually enjoying it.

They’ve been playing through dark souls on the button boys patreon (two haven’t played any souls games before) & it’s a troupe in all of the games apparently. They sound horrible play to me, I tried bloodbourne for about 5 minutes & f**ked it off!

Yeah it’s tough and complex. Going in blind and trying to play through is a nightmare.

Picked up a PS5 Pro in Black Friday for downstairs. Plan on keeping it a solely single player console.

Got a £50 PSN voucher with purchase so have downloaded God of War, Spiderman 2 & Ghost of Tsushima.

Any other similar games anyone can recommend that I’ve missed out on by sticking with Xbox (Which I still have in the office solely for online Gears)

The bloke on the horse? Yeah i think i wasted a few hours on him on release. Don't think the dark souls games are for, wasted hours on Elden Ring without ever achieving anything.

Not sure if ive mentioned it on here before but anyone wanting a game to play with their kid should look at grounded 2, its a brilliant little game, basically honey ive shrunk the kids simulator. Loads of base building stuff while avoiding/fighting spiders, scorpions and other stuff in an open world. There is a storyline to follow also.

Ive been playing it for months with my daughter and had a great time on it.

FIFA to make a come back next year on Netflix by a developer who’re yet to release a single game & are American. You’ll be able to use your phone as a controller.

So basically it’s going to be sh*te.

Fifa/EAFC has been ass since about 2016.

That and COD was all i used to play and both franchises are dead now.

Been playing a bit of Manor Lords on game pass. Pretty relaxing.

I’ve got whatever which ever year they turned eafc which I occasionally stick on to switch the brain off.
