David Villa

A couple of years too late for my liking.

A quality player, but we don't need another older striker.

its a hard one to be honest hes one of the best strikers around and the money being talked about, 40 million, its a risk i dont want chelsea to take i can see him being another shevshenko quality if he stays in spain for most of what is left of his career and one last big paycheck in america, But hes at an age that if he comes by the time hes settled and used to england he will have lost sharpness i wouldve bought him when liverpool signed torres but its to late for us to see the best of him in blue

This signing would reek much more of Shevchenko than the Torres signing...too big of a risk for a man on the brink of 30.

That said, I don't think the club would really have any intention of making this play. It seems to be paper speculation at its best.

David Villa is a better striker than Torres and that's a fact

He is a better striker but 29 give him a year to settle 30 - leaves him 2-3 years at the top.

Villa for £40m is a rip off, no resale value and if he failed to impress in first season we couldn't recoup anything more then £20m imo

I was a big fan of Villa when he was at Valencia and he would of been a great signing to partner Drogba at the time but now it would be silly to buy him at any price.

Super player (whose had an average season for his standards, but played out of position), but can't see it happening.
