Any word on Joao Moutinho? I heard porto will let him go for as little as £20m due to financial problems, which is coincidentally the same amount we are rumoured to offer everton for Jack Rodwell. Watched him a bit playing for Sporting and Porto and he is a solid CDM and can lead the midfield as well.

He's good and I think we were linked with him this last summer. AVB might want to turn Chelsea into Portugal so who knows

I've read some stories that say Porto's pres says nobody is for sale. I've read others that say Porto needs some cash and would take £20-23m for Moutinho. Who knows?

I thought Porto was a well run club that was making a mint selling players? I'm surprised to hear anything about them having financial troubles.

That's what I thought when I read that story, too. I'd be surprised if it was true. But you never know, I guess.

He was amazing for AVB's Porto as well. I certainly wouldn't say no to him, if he can be secured for a reasonable price.

For me we either need to fill that position with a likewise player or get Mata to play there & buy an attacking wide midfielder. Romeu & Ramires would be 2 of the 1st name on the teamsheet for me now. I love Super Frank, but sadly he can't go on for ever.

Is that really true? I cant believe they would ever turn that down, the entire football world was laughing their asses off when they claimed they wanted 90m Euros for Hulk. The guy is 25 and will never even come close to the level of stardom they think he has.

As good as Modric is, getting Dembele and Moutinho in for him is quite good. All in all, I'd say Spurs will end up stronger now.

Because Moutinho is a very good player who should have left Portugal a couple of years ago. They've also brought in Dembele and knowing Spuds they will buy someone on Friday aswell. And considering they finished 4th last year they could potentially be title challengers. I aslo think AVB still has potential to be a good manager.

Between Dembele, Parker, Sandro, Huddlestone and Livermore, they've got enough quality in the center of their midfield. Moutinho is a decent player, but I've never rated him particularly highly and he certainly doesn't make Tottenham scary. There are other areas of the team where they have bigger holes. Without addressing those, they don't have a chance of challenging for the league title.

We bought Hazard and Oscar and De Bruyne. We have Mata and Ramires. Why should we be worried about Spurs buying Dembele and Moutinho? Seriously, get a grip. They lost their best player. They're entitled to spend a bit of the money they got for him. For f**k's sake we've got Hazard.
