Lukaku

The Lad hardly played this year, he is most defiantly a diamond in the rough. However he is still a diamond none the less, Do we keep him and play him sparingly next year and gradually progress him or let him go on loan ?

He cost 17 million pound remember, he is a youngster we have invested heavily in, surely he deserves a run of games at he club not somewhere else before we dispense with him. IF we dispense with him. However terrific Drogba still is at 34 and the fantastic form Fernando is showing, This guy could still well a future legend, he all the attributes. he deserves the chance to shine and the chance to learn at the biggest stage !

As Liam Gallagher said other night ' Viva La Belgium ' !

If a club like HSV/ Vitesse would be interested in him on a season long loan I would go ahead with it. Apart from Carling cup I dont see him featuring much in the league/ Cl/ later stages of FA cup. At 17 he needs a lot more game time and he needs to be playing in a competitive league, even a loan back to Anderlecht may not be a bad idea. What I would fear is that another season like this one would stagnate his growth and the same applied to Josh though I believe Josh would have seen more game time under RDM than he has at Swansea.

Do you not also thing that like other chelsea loanees before him that going on loan will be the kiss of death if he doesnt score 14 goals in 20 as opposed to progressing his development

I believe if he plays week in and week out he should be able to show glimpses of what he is made of. Kakuta is an ideal example of that, couldn't get adequate game time at Bolton and at Dijon he has pretty much been their saviour. He has 13 starts and 3 sub appearances and he has produced 5 goals and 3 assists, not bad for a player that is playing in a relegation threatened team.

People need to go look at Drogba when he was young, he was hardly the finished article and never really made the grade until his early 20`s. He also was a rough diamond yet flourished in the right environment with the right help. Hopefully Lukaku will progress in a similar (if not quicker) fashion and we will see the best of him in the coming years. We didnt buy him for the here and no, we bought him for the future.

Go on loan, score a bunch of goals, then come up, easy! Im sure he's not AVB's signing, someone signed up for the future. We have a on loan GK that will play the Europa league final, hopeLukaku can do the same (or similar) before he comes back.

I am pretty sure the common thoughts will be that this young guy needs to go on loan to get the chances he needs. I think we have to be careful where we loan him in the EPL as others have said some like Lukaku and McEachran have failed to get the opportunities they need where they received those elsewhere. I wonder if he won't get guaranteed 20+ starts if it might not even be better for him to go somewhere like the Championship? I dunno just a thought, regardless he needs somewhere he can get the consistent playing time now. I think its a great move by our organization to get him now at this price as that could quintuple in ten years.

Definitely should be loaned out along with Josh, Feruz, and Piazon, imo. These kids need some playing time and in a couple of years they will be ripping up Europe! Feruz and Piazon especially look good and seem to be really growing a partnership on the pitch!

I'd honestly take him above Malouda and Sturridge right now. It's worrying times with a CL final just around the corner, and some massive players missing.

He's being loaned out as part of the Marko Mairn deal. He'll be playing at Werder Bremen next season.

I hope your right but new it wouldn't be a premiership side.

I hope he does eventually come good time will tell.

Must say though I haven't heard anything about that though, I'll find out today.

Yeah I've heard that he'll be loaned out to Bremen too... which is good I suppose.

One of the reasons he hasn't been playing apparantly he hasn't looked good in training at all.

I know that our technical and fitness trainers have been working on his agility and technique with the ball, like a special education. I don't want to be too rude since he's young, but have you guys even seen a Belgian Blue? You know, those oxes who were doped up to be too bulky for their own good. Lukaku is that. I'm only hoping that he can shave off some pounds of muscles and fat, because then we are talking about a world beater.

You'd struggle to get him out on loan, he's useless at the moment, poor first touch shooting very average and slow as to bulky.

Nearly every team in France and Germany would trip over themselves for the chance to take him on loan. You can dislike him, but saying we'd have any problems whatsoever loaning him out is nonsensical.

This kid isnt some semi pro youth player we picked up from some 3rd world country. He is a belgium international. He was ripping the league a new one every week. Yes its only the belgium league but look at some of the players that Belgium have, they have some class players coming through.

Maybe your mate Todd just doesnt like Lukaku. Maybe he is a bit jealous that Lakuka is getting first team games and he is still some way off. Who knows! But to say he is a joke and no one will want him is just deluded.
