Lukaku joining Fulham?.

Featured Replies

After lastnights performance. He really needs to go out on loan and get some playing time. Everything about him looked average to poor. He couldn't even control the ball, it just bounced off him and he made no effort to move or make a chance for himself. Tbh he just looks out of his depth at the moment.

vs. two goals in the first game that were taken with beauty and brute force. One game doesn't decide this. I really think we should keep him with the first team. There is no sense what so ever to buy a new striker but without Lukaku we are short of firepower. Torres is no.1. Lukaku could be no.2 if Danny plays on right side.

I would probably pick Sturridge as our CF rather than Lukaku, but then I guess it entirely depends on what the game situation and team is. Danny is the quicker more skillful player and maybe a better finisher, but Lukaku obviously has his size and strength so offers the battering ram type approach from long balls.

If Lukaku has to go on loan then 1 season at Fulham could be ideal, with a clause to bring him back in the January if we need him. I wouldn't be surprised if we signed another forward though and we don't see Lukaku again until preseason 2013/2014.

I dont think Lukaku would get enough game time with us unless Torres or Studge get injured this season. I think a loan would do him the world of good. Problem is will he get much game time at Fulham? I thought Everton or Wigan would be a better club as they dont have many strikers so he would get more of a chance there.

Will most likely get more at Fulham, Zamora, Johnson, Pog all gone, Everton have Jelavic and i dont think Wigan are good enough.

I know they have Petric and Rodallega but i dont see Petric playing that many games

I wouldn't mind sending him on loan, it means we could get a backup like Lewandowski, although his agent seems to be wanting far too much money for him.

I don't know if a 29 goal scorer for one of top clubs in europe want to be a backup for Torres.

The thing is who ever we bring in, if they score more goals then they deserve their place. If Torres wants to keep his place then he needs to score goals and do his job.

R.I.P career.

Wouldn't be so bad if it's a season long loan though, it's it's just 6 months then forget about it.

R.I.P career ? what are you talking about ? Lukaku needs to go out on loan , if anything this will improve him as a player. Fulham is a premier league club and is perfect for Lukaku right now.

I think the first 2 goals were well taken but he looked like he was struggling to control the ball , against better defenders he would easily have lost the ball.

R.I.P career for going on loan to a mid-table premiership team at the age of 19? I swear unless you're in the first team at a big club by the age of 17 you're deemed as sh*t these days..

I am not against a loan move to Fulham but to be honest I would rather see him stay with us and get some game time with us. In many ways he is a perfect back up striker for Torres:

a) He will have realistic expectations in terms of starts. He will probably be happy with starts in cup games and congested periods when Torres needs a break as well as substitute appearances in the bigger games. Any high profile striker signed for big money would expect much more and could cause more harm than good if he upsets the camp.

b) He is a stark opposite to Torres in terms of attributes and style of play. He is a power house who offers a target man to aim for should we wish to apply a plan B, never a bad option to have.

c) We have already invested £18M on the lad. So if we sign another established striker who stakes a claim for a starting place AND he goes to Fulham and starts scoring for fun then we would perhaps be a bit top heavy on strikers- although I admit this is not a bad problem to have.

All in all I just think it makes more sense for him to stay with us and develop whilst providing us with a back up strikes which we need.

I guess it just comes down to weather he is ready for that role or not. I would certainly hope he is as he came with high expectations and a big price tag but truth be told I have hardly seen him play for us and that won't change if he goes out on loan.

Fulham aren't scrubs, if Lukaku is as bad as people say he was in that friendly (I didn't see it) then he will most likely not get a look in at all at Fulham. Need I remind you about Kakuta?

He would get just as much games here as he would over there, only maybe a few more over at Fulham. Season long loan however then they would be forced to play him due to injuries, fatigue, etc. So it wouldn't be so bad then.

Wasn't being serious with the RIP thing. Point of it was that he should playing in a team where he is a granted starter or at the very least close to it, he won't be that at Fulham. Could have gone on loan to one of the promoted teams.

Bolded point is silly and I didn't imply anything of the sort.
