I've put this in rumours for now but there are reports coming out of America that Roman Abramovich has been arrested in the US. Does anyone have any further detail?

I can find only Twittery type comments - but an awful lot of them!  Will hold my belief till I find something more reliable!

P.S. yes Geezer has posted the twittery comments I was talking about.

On a serious note though, detained is a far cry from arrested/charged. With all the business dealings he had with Berovsky (probably got that wrong) it would be logical for the police to at least investigate that avenue to some extent. I greatly doubt it but if by some chance RA had had him killed then I for one would rather see him punished than remain in control of the club.

There are more legitimate sources that deny it than confirm it so until there's concrete confirmation it's idiot journalists spreading twitter rumours.

Seems the news was broken by a news agency which is very close to Putin. Strange, very strange but if Putin has got it in for Roman then Roman had better watch his back (and what he consumes) VERY closely.

Personally, I would have preferred 'BOLLOCKS' to 'NOT TRUE'.

That's probably why I'll never get a job as a billionaire's press spokesman!

Roman Abramovich has indeed been arrested and has some significant charges to answer according to FBI spokesman Roberto di Matteo

Just saw another tweet saying that his spokesman has denied it. And a brilliant one saying he was charged with the crime of bringing Torres to Chelsea.

more like denying a contract to Lamps

If they hit him with unfair dismissal he won't have a leg to stand on, they could also arrest Benitez for impersonating a Football Manager.

Headline was also on Bloomberg with no story and then denied, Surely the FBI would let there 'porns' at MI6 take the lead in this investigation anyway taking all likely scenario's into the equation and we all know the conspiracy theories. Especially with any potential crime being on British soil.

Unless of course Roman was indeed on the grassy knoll that day.

Saw something about share prices falling as a result of this. Sneaky Russians trying to get back their Cyprus money by manipulating the stock market?
