Cavani, Hulk, Schurrle IN

Featured Replies

Cavani, Hulk, Schurrle IN. Moses, Ba and Torres OUT. Lukaka now returning under Mourinho tutelage....

K.D.B IN now Benayoun gone.

Wallace IN to replace Paulo.

Essien back for Malouda.

Marin?... to be fair to the lad he needs a consistent training programme with the likes of Mourinho and his team, then, a run in the team to make an accurate assessment....... So, sold in January 2014.

Ake out on Premiership loan for one season and give the boy a season of constant top flight football.

And.... a season introducing one or two of our returning loan players/senior youth to the first team, sifting who will play a future role and who will not.

Luiz and Mata for sale = Press mischief...

Now, I doubt very much all of this will happen but it could, as we know with Chelsea, anything can happen. But.... be interesting to have a front line to choose from like this, if available.

Cavani rumours really heavy last night and wouldn't be surprised if a deal announced this week sometime, not so sure about Hulk and Schurrle could have gone tits up due to K.D.B reported as not going out on loan. Now reported as returning to the Bridge after discussions with Mourinho in the last couple of days.

Silly season, hate it or love it... it's here once again.

* Please note: Don't be surprised if some bored, lazy hack has this printed in their column tomorrow morning as done deals*

Best 3 strikers at the Bridge should be... The above or different?

IMO Cavani, Hulk, Schurrle together is a bit too much .We need to think of Lukaku as well.

just Cavani would do ?

Telling you right now that we'll only get one(max) of the ones you mentioned , good chance we wont get any. Would be disgraceful business by the club to buy any more than 1 given the options that already exist  .

Cavani is the only one i would really want from those. Hulk has been a flop and i dont see the point in buying Schurrle, 20 million for a squad player just seems silly to me.

Cavani is the only one of those mentioned that would actually improve our team.

I'd be happy with Schurrle and not sending de Bruyne on loan.

Not going to guess who our "first pick" attackers will be, but with Mata, Hazard, Oscar, Moses, de Bruyne, Schurrle, Torres, Lukaku and Ba to choose from, I'd be happy.

I pray that Torres isnt a Chelsea player next season. So sick of the circus now. It will be best for him and us for him to move on.

You guys are harsh to Torres. I just think he is low on confidence and Mourinho could definitely help him. He has scored some crucial goals for us and hasn't been overly dreadful enough to get rid of him quite yet.

Oh cmooooooooooon. Shall we pet him and buy him lots of candy?

The same thing has been said about every manager. They even brought in Rafa to try and get him back to his best. The guy is finished with us. He needs to be shipped out asap.

He had what I'd called a decent start and finish to the season and he was our star man in the Europa League BUT I don't think you can say his confidence is low anymore. He's simply not the same player he once was, he no longer terrorises defences the way he used too and regularly disapears against top 4 teams. It says it all that his best performances came in Europe against opposition that isn't exactly the Elite of European football. His best days sadly are behind him.

I feel for the guy, it's not from lack of effort he's failing. Unfortunately though with the wages we have him on, nobodies going to want to come close to him.

We can't blame the system, Torres just isn't the same player simple as.

The system doesn't make him miss chances does it? When he's 1 on 1 you really don't know whether he's gonna score or not.

I agree. However, here he has a chance or two per game whereas In Liverpool he had 5-6 quality chances per game and scored one sometimes two.

I'll agree that the system hasn't suited him at times but we can't keep making excuses for him. He gets plenty of chances to score and most notably that crazy miss against United is something that there are no excuses for.

Spot on! He has been with us for 2 and a half years, in that time how many game can you remember that he has changed the game or even played well? A handful at most. Most of the time he is shocking and a waste of space.

He scores 2 important goals in 2 and a half years and everyone forgets how sh*t he has been.

Not saying he's had a great season, but it's certainly not been awful.

He's not the player he was, he's not an "elite" striker anymore, but he's still one of the better forwards in the league. Of course, being on 'star player salary' isn't right, as he definitely isn't an automatic pick, but he does contribute to the team. While I'm sure a sharper, more physical focal point to our attack would improve the side, I don't believe we're in desperate need of a new player there.

Our strikers haven't scored a lot of goals since we switched to 4-2-3-1, but they've often opened up space for the midfielders behind them to do so. Would I take a Cavani or a Falcao over Torres? Of course, but I think there's other areas in the squad that could do with more depth/strengthening, particularly if we bring back Lukaku.

According to this he was equal 31st best striker in a league with 20 clubs, on par with Jon Walters and Grant Holt, and scored 2 less goals than Kevin Nolan.

While having three of the best playmakers in the country behind him.

Torres has failed to score 10 league goals in every season since he joined us, i'm sorry but whatever excuse someone comes up with i just won't be listening to anymore. There are no more excuses for him, he simply isn't good enough for the top teams anymore.
