It was alright. Just wondered about some things. Was some of the source material already colour graded like that? I mean, I just noticed that you had so many different "looks" in this one video.

 

Was that music in the intro from Euro 2012? I just thought it sounded familiar.

 

I also noticed you'd used some shots several times. I noticed it ends a bit like it starts, but not exactly the same way (the circle almost closes, but not quite). Then again, there were some things you chose to not show at all, like Mata's missed penalty kick. You showed reactions to it and reactions to the shootout, but not the kick itself. I first thought, maybe you don't want to dwell too much on negative things and that's why you didn't show the penalty miss, but then you show that tackle by Walker, but not when he makes a mug of Walker later on and sets up the goal(or was that final pass shown in one of the wide shots?). Was there a reason, or was it just that you didn't have video of these things?

 

I'm sorry if I sounded a bit negative. The video definitely had its moments, no doubt about that, it's just that usually when these videos get posted on the forum, we don't have the luxury of having the editor here as a forum member, so I figured I'd just go ahead and ask.

"Sometimes tears say there is to say" = Mata crying... "Sometimes you've got no choice but to walk away".. = Mata walking away from fighting Walker.. And yes I used a few of the clips that were already coloured from my other compilations etc..! Amd yes I didn't want to show his penalty miss otherwise it would be too negative. Love the feedback I'm getting from you lot. Thanks. And yes the intro was from Euro 2012. Yeah and I repeated my clips a lot to go with the lyrics, and I have every Chelsea game stored in my Laptop right now but that's not working so that was another reason to repeat but still in most my compilation towards the end I repeat a bit but not a lot so it stays in the head, like a flashback effect.

Yeah, I noticed some of those bits where the video footage showed things that mirrored the lyrics in a way. Maybe there could've been more of those moments where it's clear enough, like it's with that Walker bit. Chelsea fans know where all the material is from, but a casual watcher probably doesn't. I mean, you have that shot of Neuer and Chelsea fans know where it's from, so it makes sense, but a casual neutral watcher might not know where it's from and it can be a bit distracting for them to see a close up of this non Chelsea player. They might wonder why is he there and why is he significant. You show Mata being disappointed, but hardly show any reason why.

 

I like how you play around with the pacing of the editing, but at times I felt like you don't see enough to be able to really appreciate his skills. I thought it was a good decision not to use any commentary from the matches with this style of video where you wanted to have this connection between the lyrics and what's happening on the screen.

I use Premiere and AE at work. Best there is IMO. Check out Videocopilot.com if you haven't already. Great tutorials and tips there for AE.
