Eight Times Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Terrible news friends. Feel like I've just lost a massive part of my childhood :( RIP to the great man! http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/chi-harold-ramis-dead-20140224,0,2259309.story
Valerie Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Oh, that is a big loss to the film world, what a shame.
Eight Times Posted February 24, 2014 Author Posted February 24, 2014 Might have to watch Groundhog Day tonight, what a top film that is! On another note, Ghostbusters 2 was the first film I ever saw at the cinema, and I still find Vigo (the guy in the painting) creepy.
loz Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Groundhog Day was great but Stripes was his finest hour. His writing really empitomised what was great about that era of American comedies. He also had a writing credit opn Anmial House (must admit I didn't know that till today) and anyone with a credit in that gets instant legend status!
bluedave Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 (edited) I saw it on the news earlier and at first I didn't know who he was, then they listed some of the films he had worked on and my heart sank. RIP. Edited February 25, 2014 by bluedave
Arq Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Extremely sad news. A very funny man and one that helped inspire the latest generation of comedians. I agree with you Loz, Stripes was one of his best. Fantastic movie and somewhat underrated at the time. I might have to watch it again tonight after I get home from work. Funny no one has mentioned Caddyshack. No, not Caddyshack 2, the disaster that was. The original Caddyshack was a fantastic movie and it still an extremely enjoyable watch. Another one of Ramis' gems. RIP Harold Ramis.
