Let's make a statement on Saturday

Featured Replies

After being in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. There's been a lot of bad publicity for this great club of ours so let's make a statement. The world will be watching us so lets stand up for our Black players and show them we are not like them racists who tarnished our club. Hopefully there'll be some banners but let's also sing our hearts out and let them racists know they're not welcome at the Bridge. Here's a song we could sing, "You ******* racists you're not wanted here" to the same tune as the Rafa Benitez song.

Good idea but I don't see many joining in I'm afraid.

The club authority should do something, on another thread I suggested they issue flags, but SRTRC ones. I have a feeling there'll be banners, I hope there are many.

We should play this lineup as a sign of solidarity and protest against those responsible for the Paris incident:

Blackman; Aina, Zouma, Terry, Aké; Mikel, Ramires; Cuadrado, Willian, Rémy; Drogba

I'll definitely be singing 'f*** off you racists, you're not welcome here' - and I'd be surprised if a chant like that wasn't sung at our next home game.

If we were singing it for maximum impact, coverage etc, it would be better to drop the swearing.

I'm not any sort of prude, but if the purpose is to show our condemnation of racism/racists to as many people as possible, it'll be broadcast to far,far more outlets and people without the f-off bit. Substitute the swearing for 'ban the racists' or something like that.

Absolutely, as many write off footie fans as foul mouthed yobs.

What a load of bollox. Anyone would think the bloke had his head caved in with a baseball bat. Just let it blow over, which in time it will

Sadly, I think that option is long gone.

Some people might just pick up on the word racist in the chant, and think the whole ground has gone combat 18. Flags or banners if people think its appropriate. But other than roundly condemning it which the club has done. I don't see what else can be done. Wouldn't be surprised to see some anti racism groups outside the ground on Saturday.

After Tuesday you really do not know why?

Least said, soonest mended.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion but I disagree with you totally. Let's not brush it under the carpet and hope it'll go away. Let's show everyone what we think of these people.

I must of missed that where all Chelsea fans have to do what you say mate.

Who's brushing it under the carpet, but I am not advocating going round S/B effing & blinding like you would have supporters doing

Have not a few loud mouth bigots caused enouth trouble? use what little brain power you have & drop this stupid suggestion before more people

get the wrong end of the stick & label us all as RACIST SCUM.

This won't take off and no good would come of it if it did anyway.

I can see the headlines now " Chelsea hypocrites want racists out of Chelsea then sing John Terry's name in the next breath "

Best thing we can do is focus on the football & supporting the team, end of.

No need to insult. As I said everyone is entitled to their opinion. I have mine and you have yours. Have I insulted you? Grow up.

Hope so too mate.

Is a good idea to make a statement, but it'll be perfectly good for the club to print out some new banners and hold a minute of applause against racism (why not) They should also invite the French guy to watch a match but not sure it would be a good idea to parade him around the ground, then it ends up a bit much like a circus rather than an apology

If I have insulted you I apologise, I was not the one wanting everyone to start effing & blinding, which would not have look

very good after those Idiots on Tuesday, would it now?
