November 10, 201510 yr True that, this can't be the same Roman who fired Carlo for finishing second after a double the season before. Roman has showed incredible amount of restraint this season. Time for Jose and the players to step up. A lot could be achieved if we are able to get on a run like we had in the first 10 games last season. I'm preparing myself for various 'experts' to make this out to indicate that Roman no longer cares for Chelsea and that he's gonna soon sell and leave and we're going to get into administration subsequently and get relegated and disappear into obscurity. On a serious note, I don't think we can expect too much from the January transfer window. There's hardly any evidence of January recruits immediately hitting the ground running. Also every club will know we're desperate and will promptly increase the asking price by 100%. I am in favour of giving youth an extended run in the team. I'm quite sure we'd be on at least at the same situation if we had used all of Baba, RLC, Traore and Kenedy in all the games.
November 10, 201510 yr According to the Supercomputer we are predicted to finish the season in 4th place with 66 points. Seems unlikely but you never know, if Jose sorts us out we could go on a run after Christmas.... http://talksport.com/football/premier-league-table-super-computer-predicts-final-bpl-table-201516-november-update?p=19
November 10, 201510 yr Times are awful and I know for some people football is everything but as someone who has been through the ringer recently with my marriage and losing people in my life before I just cannot and will not allow football to negatively effect me. Sure it's awful when the club is doing bad and this is the worst spell we've had in the Roman era but please remember that football isn't life or death. It's fine to be annoyed, pissed off and hurt but remember it's only a game at the end of the day, one with passion yes but not one that should make people turn on people and/or treat friends & family differently. Well said bobby
November 10, 201510 yr Indeed! Good reaction. That takes a lot of courage, Bob! Going through the ringer changes everything, doesn't it? Another point of view. Another reality. Well said!
November 11, 201510 yr It's been apparent for some time now that the team has been on the wane. We could argue since the Tottenham defeat last Xmas. Since then certain players have lost form individually. I noticed towards the end of last season that Fabregas was losing possession far too often. Early this season Ivanovic and Hazard suffered the same issue and since then a good few others have gone the same way. Costa has lost all his goal scoring nous and plays on his aggression only. It seems to me that this gradual erosion of the team cannot be down to all these players becoming bad players. There is clearly an overarching problem. We all speculate on here but we can see what happens on the pitch and nearly the whole team have had a problem for some time now. The common denominator here is Jose and I fear his previous style of management is letting him down. Snippets of information over the years lead me to believe his players like him because he is a cool and confident character who has an ability to motivate and connect with his players. He can talk and talk and talk until an atmosphere of invincibility has taken hold. The problem now is his motivational skills are not working and the connection is broken. One by one the players have stopped believing in him and all the tactical shuffling in the world cannot stop unmotivated players losing their confidence and consequently their playing abilities. Where to from here? Jose needs to adapt to a new style of management. He hasn't had to do this before because he has always gone to a new club. Now the plan is to stay and work it out so Bruce Buck or somebody of standing within the club should be talking with Jose about his problems and he needs to listen. He's not the infallible one anymore. He needs to be a little more understanding and start motivating the players in a different way. He has to learn how to adapt to this new scenario or he is dead. This is the test of a man on new territory and he needs to apply himself to this new set of circumstances. There were signs against Stoke that maybe a few of the players were finding something new so lets see how it goes. (Hazard played the best he's played all season) Hopefully Jose can learn on the job and the board continue to support him.
November 11, 201510 yr You are all blind, if you think Jose will turn it around. I lost my faith in this... year by year. He has improved nothing, just his ego. He sent more, than any other manager ever by Chelsea from every aspect. Well this summer wasn't great, because defence wasn't streghtened at all, but before this season we were the top favorite for the title, but know we are contender for championshiop, (yes not champons leage :( I see every week the sae sh*t what Jose cooks. No concept in the game, but I saw this year, but that time our to players were performing, but this year this... ruined everything. He scr.. the preseason and after first results failed to come, instead of working harder and building a new concepts and noticing obvious things (Ivanovic and Costa has serious fitness problems) for the game started to find always somebody to blame, FA,refrees, Caneiro and at the end what's the worst the players. I'm sure he made a feeling in dressing room what freez everyone, from this point it's impossible to turn around for him. He was never and never will be the Club's most successful manager! He won the most league titles for sure, but at top level he was unable to reach Champions League final neither with Chelsea nor with Real (Di Matteo and Grant did this for us!), this shows his true value he can win with underdogs such as Inter and Porto with tactics and curse, but he is unable to build a team and create real football. I really hope he will be scked as soon as possible, before we loose the last chance to reach top 4. Who can replace him??? Seriously? Anyone! I haven't ever seen such an arrogan egoistic coach on earth as he is. Angelotti is the best choice he can win everything, if he get the chance to work freely, but Di Matteo, Hiddink, Capello anybody is better at this point!
November 11, 201510 yr ^^^ word salad. (All credit goes to Mayos) Sure everybody can be blamed for this situoatin, but Jose right?
November 11, 201510 yr Sure everybody can be blamed for this situoatin, but Jose right? ^^^ word salad. Blame Jose for this, blame Jose for that. Do you also want to blame Jose for preparing your bowl of word salad?
November 11, 201510 yr ^^^ word salad. Blame Jose for this, blame Jose for that. Do you also want to blame Jose for preparing your bowl of word salad? You are supporters of Jose not the Club! Shame on you.
November 11, 201510 yr You are supporters of Jose not the Club! Shame on you. Never knew it's shameful to support the manager of our club.
November 11, 201510 yr Never knew it's shameful to support the manager of our club. Typical Benitez was hated because he has told stupid things years before, but he done his job. Jose can do anything without consequences. Seriously is Chlesea for Jose, or Jose for the Club? I hope it isn't just a rumor: http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/carlo-ancelotti-holds-talks-with-chelsea-representatives-over-replacing-mourinho-wednesdays-top-a3112101.html? We need calm and stability not that much heat and hate Jose make.
November 11, 201510 yr Rafa won the Europa League, but his league form wasn't great, neither was his performances in the Club World Cup and League Cup. Winning the Europa papered over how awful we really were.
November 11, 201510 yr Surely the best idea is to build a long term future for this club and to stop the manager turnstile spitting out yet another victim. Mourinho deserves the patience of the board and the fans. He has earned that with the success that came about last season. Everybody needs to hold their nerve and accept this may not be a good season. What it might be, though, is a season that Mourinho changes and learns how to build long term success. We won't know if he's capable of this if he's sacked now. Most of the managers that are mentioned as replacements do not have such a good record and probably wouldn't come anyway. It's a chance Chelsea should take and can afford to take. The real fans will stick around and if we get a new stadium things can't be all that bad.
November 11, 201510 yr Rafa won the Europa League, but his league form wasn't great, neither was his performances in the Club World Cup and League Cup. Winning the Europa papered over how awful we really were. Is Jose going to win anything this year? Next year he surely won't at least not here..., but I don't want Abra to wait till next year and let Jose destroy everything, if we don't qualify for CL the chance we can sign Guardiola or Simeone is small, however I wouldn't drop a tear, if Guardiola won't be our manager. All in all this would be terrible to see Chlesea don't qualify for CL and if Jose remains it's obvious.
November 11, 201510 yr Jose's record, both with Chelsea and other clubs means he is allowed some leeway. There will always be seasons where Chelsea don't win something. Had Jose not signed a new 4 year deal in August then he would already be sacked. The club can't afford such a massive payout with Chelsea missing out on CL income next year, and receiving a poor PL prize for finishing so low. Abramovich isn't showing faith in Jose, he's been cornered so that the club can't afford to get rid of him.
November 11, 201510 yr I sometimes wonder if Roman is fed up with Jose's antics and has decided to let him burn in public. I think Jose was paid off £20m last time and you're probably looking at £30m this time. I know many think this pocket change to Roman but to give one man £50m for doing nothing will rankle. Might be better for him to burn or resign without payment.

Even if he is paid off, he has brought us tons of trophies and money to at least compensate some of that amount. And has everybody forgotten Carlo's "bad moment" and constant RB subs? November 11, 201510 yr Where do we go from here? I think it may be a simple case of Roman waiting for Guardiola to decide if he wants to renew his contract with Bayern.
November 11, 201510 yr Seriously? Doing nothing? You think jose has done nothing for the club? Even if he is paid off, he has brought us tons of trophies and money to at least compensate some of that amount. And has everybody forgotten Carlo's "bad moment" and constant RB subs? Jose has done plenty for the club but he was paid £20m to leave last time. To my knowledge he didn't do anything then and I don't imagine he'll do anything for the club if they pay him another £30m this time. Thats £50m for doing nothing. He was paid plenty more for what he did do. I don't think Carlo will come back after last time.
