Where do we go from here?

Featured Replies

I find it a bit strange how people talk about our results as if we're the only top team who'll go through this patch this season. Does no one else think the other teams, I.e. the man utds, city, arsenal and liverpool won't go through bad spells and drop points? There is a long way to go yet, but i am just fed up of hearing the media and other fans mentioning our bad form as if we will be thr only ones to experience it this season. Other teams will drop points for sure, even if it doesn't seem like it yet. I still expect us to pick up a good amount of points while others drop a good amount of points.

Bad form for a team like us should be drawing away at a stoke, bad form for a team like us should be narrowly winning 1-0 against a crystal palace while playing badly

I hope Jose is given full support in the January window.

I don't think Jose's gonna reach the January window. In fact, I'm worried that he'll be gone before our next match.

We won no pre-season matches

Gawd knows what that was about with the medical staff, but Mourinho handled it very badly. I suspect Dr Carneiro was popular with the players.

We can't score

We can't defend

Why do we stop play in the final third and try and dink passes through? where's the width? where are the players in the box hoping to pounce? Where's the flow?

Why does no-one shoot?

Why is Costa so slow? and crap? and perhaps he could play football instead of picking petty fights.

We need Mourinho on the touchline, not banned, and he has to stop complaining.

There's no sympathy for us. It's all Schadenfreude.

Watching the match yesterday I was stunned by the lack of purpose in the final third. Hazard and Willian had the opportunity to shoot and passed it up. Confidence seems to be lacking and we need to identify how to repair it.

I think we all have had just about enough off the Chelsea soap opera...hundreds of answers to questions many of us do not know but can only speculate on....I will try to keep this short ....there is without a doubt a serious problem going on in our football club...a cancer that is currently splitting the club apart..so as I see it tonight ....the great man may have to go to for us to turn the corner ..it happens in football .....

Know where I am going, I am going for the health of my heart, sanity & pocket to stop Sky & Chelsea TV then sell my season ticket,

then I can relax at weekend without fear of either heart attack or burst blood vessels, recover my sense's, then my wife & children can speak to me without the fear of getting their heads bit off, perhaps I will earn some brownie points doing little jobs around the house taking my mind off the usual daft thing I did before all this kerfuffle took over.

The title of this thread is the perfect caption for this photo which was taken at today's 4-0 demolition of Liverpool by our U-21s.

A penny for your thoughts Jose?

I hope he is working out how to use RLC and maybe a few others to give us a lift in the run up to Christmas. We'll need to do something and we need to start right now. Anybody think these guys look like they know what to do next?

Nearly all the teams get players to run the channels while we just sit around waiting for the whole opposition team to get in place. Just infuriating and something which CAN be fixed. Agree with everyone regarding Costa. He antics were bearable when he was scoring last year. Now it feels that is all he can offer. Well at least we won't lose next weekend.

If you want to keep something short, don't use lines of dots.

Cancer is a deadly disease which has killed some of our nearest and dearest.  It is not a wee problem in a billionaire's playground.  Chelsea will survive. Jose may survive.

haha class.....I have a son who had cancer when he was 5..... glad to say he came through it ...its a term used In everyday life....what is your point to the thread.....

He certainly knows how to use him and has publicly made comments to that effect. What we can't afford now are any more mistakes from inexperienced players. You want youngsters to be introduced into a well-functioning system suited to the ambition of the club. The answer is never to lean on them out of sheer desperation.

Times are awful and I know for some people football is everything but as someone who has been through the ringer recently with my marriage and losing people in my life before I just cannot and will not allow football to negatively effect me. Sure it's awful when the club is doing bad and this is the worst spell we've had in the Roman era but please remember that football isn't life or death. It's fine to be annoyed, pissed off and hurt but remember it's only a game at the end of the day, one with passion yes but not one that should make people turn on people and/or treat friends & family differently.

Nothing i count on or expect to happen but with top 4 all but gone and not much more then pride left to play for in the league i hope Mourinho and his team are willing to give youth a proper chance for the rest of the season. Not at all saying that we should play five of them at once but an actual run in the team for the likes of RLC, Kenedy and Traore first and foremost would be fantastic. A midtable finish would in my eyes be so much easier to take if we i may can say that RLC is a regular starter along with Kenedy and Traore is a fantastic option eighter from the bench or starting games.

first off get Tibo back in goal, Begovic although behind the worst backline in many seasons is not world class, some of the goals conceded may have been stopped by a better keeper

stick to a back four and stop changing personnel, the key to clubs previous brilliant defensive set up was nearly always consistency over time, every game now it seems there is  a different back 4 (nearly every game ok)

white knuckle it until January then spend the money that should have got spent in the summer and then some, tough decisions need to be made by the right people at the club, some

players need to be moved out and replaced  simple as that, hopefully the coaching team gets to stay and be part of the recruitment drive

need better players all over the pitch but a goal scorer is needed above all else,

and more importantly a lot of PATIENCE. theres lots of football to play before Januray 1st. You'd like to think it cant get any worse, but so far it has.so we must be prepared and get behind the club

its easy to support winners

well it seems after todays backing we go on with jose as manager.. great credit to roman and the board for showing faith in Chelsea s greatest ever manager,,,,only time will tell if its the right decision..but for now lets all pull in the same direction ....Chelsea utd...

True that, this can't be the same Roman who fired Carlo for finishing second after a double the season before. Roman has showed incredible amount of restraint this season. Time for Jose and the players to step up. A lot could be achieved if we are able to get on a run like we had in the first 10 games last season.

I find it hard to come to these boards after yet another defeat.

Playing away from home one is bound to concede the odd goal, but it's the lack of goals scored from open play that is concerning. This comes back to having no real alternative to Costa, having no width unless we play Dave on the right and to the midfield not having enough drive or carrying enough threat.

I do think Kennedy and rlc should be played more. One or the other of them or both should be getting 45 minutes a game.

Forget Falcao we need pace and energy, drive and a sense of optimism that only youth can provide.

Until other teams learn to fear us we are always going to be on the back foot.

Would Pedro work as the front man? Willian in the centre, hazard on the right with Dave behind him, Kennedy and baba on the left,

Matic and rlc

The problem Chelsea have is this. They are not used to these problems!

Mourinho in charge, world class players, indeed a world class squad, and not since Roman took over has anyone seen these kind of problems, indeed, many Chelsea supporters are amazed its happening at all, especially with Mourinho in charge.

Who would have thought confidence would be a problem?

Well look at things from an outside standpoint.

Did winning the league last season raise Mourinhos arrogance levels to even greater heights? I am talking with regards to his relationship with Roman. The fact is, nobody knows, but we can all imagine, based on this season alone with regards to Mourinho's attitude to the officials, it wouldnt be out of his character to make demands.

And of course, Roman flexed his muscles and refused whatever he asked.

Bearing in mind, Jose has just managed a team of Real Madrids calibre, his confidence level must be sky high. And to be brought crashing back down to earth by Roman would have hurt.

And so Jose has got on with his task this season, being refused all he asked with Roman pre season, determined to show his worth. And look what has happened.

Constant bans, referee's no longer intimidated by him, his players although putting in a shift, are nowhere near the levels we all know they can get to and the press are now no longer on his side, they simply think of him as an arrogant joke.

Now taking this into consideration, confidence has never been a problem with Chelsea, and yet now it is, wonder why? I have gave a guess as to why, and the sooner Jose realises this, he can eat humble pie, realise the club is bigger than him, and get on with what he does best.
