Leicester have MADE History

Featured Replies

Really got a feeling that West Ham will get something from their game against Leicester on Sunday.

Sunderland were awful in front of goal yesterday, West Ham won't be the same mugs I fear.

Will two more wins be enough if we somehow beat Spurs?

Surly has to be the strongest 11 against spuds, no quater offered!

Do people think this is a one off or will Leicester be up there for the next few seasons as well?

Have a feeling it's going to be a one-off but a title win that will be remembered fondly for years as opposed to other title winners in subsequent years.

I imagine they'll be one of the most popular bets for relegation next season and our reign as 'worst defending champions' might be short-lived.

I reckon one season of European football could put the brakes on them sharply if they dont buy a few new players this year to rotate more.

I have a feeling it will be short lived.

Next season teams will be prepared for them, they will have a backlog of games that might stretch the squad.

I just hope they don't do a 'Leeds'.

I think its between Leicester and Spurs now, Arsenal are out of it IMO

I think Arsenal could easily get 15 points from their remaining games not including the City game which could go either way.

I can't see any of the others getting close to that points tally with their remaining fixtures. Of course Arsenal need to claw back 10 points on them so that's 4 games really where they need to win while others falter.

I think it's a tough ask but looking at their games it's such a piss easy run in. Just hope Leicester keep their nerve.

The other obstacle Leicester might face is their competition not being so awful. The conversation about the quality of this Leicester team will probably start soon and I've said before that they're arguably the worst Premier League champions in the history of the competition, but I think (and hope) that the quality of the league picks up next year. That could be the biggest impediment to them having anywhere near as strong a season.

Fact is retaining a title is extremely hard, but this is a team with a huge amount of momentum and that disappears when the final whistle in the last game goes. First they've got to keep hold of their best players, then they've got to add to them in a marketplace which is more competitive than ever. Then there's the additional matches and the pressure that comes from being champions.

But most importantly they've got to get themselves back up after what will be a huge moment of celebration, relief and feeling like they've achieved the impossible. That is a mammoth task and very few can actually do that.

So I think realistically, as things stand, a good result next year is a top-half finish.

Alright guys. I'm a Leicester fan trying desperately tof get 2 tickets to the game at your place... anyone be able to square me 2? I'll pay and I don't care where I sit... I'll justry be quiet. I know I'm risking being banned and abused but when you have a chance to witness history it doesn't matter does it?

If anyone needs proof of how much of a fan I am and not a plastic I can show my ticket stubs for this season. Villa at home. Spurs at home. West ham at home. Palace away. Newcastle away. Norwich away. It's just because impossible to legitimately get tickets now.

It's not that you'll be banned but whoever sells you the ticket. It'd probably have to be amember or ST hokder and if you are identified as an away fan they will be banned.

He'd be ok if he made a promise to spend a certain amount in the megastore before the game, buy a couple of programmes, obviously some food and a couple of rounds. I don't think the club would have a problem if he did that.

Just don't persistently stand or put anything on the chair except for your arse!! The old bill will have you for that one.

I can't remember the last time I sat down for a match - a couple of seasons ago I think.

Expect a letter rebuking you any time now.

The stewards used to try to make us sit down - I think that may have been in the season before last - while of course the away fans were allowed to hang from the barrier, light flares, sacrifice goats and generally do whatever they bloody well wanted, especially if they were Italian!  But no-one has asked us recently.

I find there's places you can get away with it, so Matthew Harding Lower is fine if you're in either the centre few blocks or towards the side near the East Stand. In between those it's frowned upon and towards the West Stand it's completely uncouth to get to your feet.

Shed End you can get away with it in the front dozen rows but any further back and you get in trouble because of the crap view in the back rows.

East Stand and West Stand you don't stand. In the West Stand it's best not to make any noise either because you'll interrupt the discussion the guys next to you might be trying to have.

West Stand Upper you're not really supposed to talk to the person next to you, in fact ignore that football match going on in front of you and use the next couple of hours to catch up on your emails.

And please, buy a flag and a keyring from the megastore.

Yeah - I'm usually Shed Lower!  Hence why I can get away with it.  Lol'd at your description of the other stands.  I could only get a ticket in West upper last year for the Man City game and it was a bit like watching it on telly.  On your own.  So I forgot, that was the last time I sat down.

I wouldn't have minded so much but the ticket price made my eyes water!  But my sister prefers sitting there as you can see the pitch so much better.  But I much prefer the atmosphere of MHL or the Shed and accept that I can't always see the other end so well.  But at least there's singing and banter and some stranger to hug if we score - sigh, I've missed that!  The best one was the first CL PSG game - lots of random stranger hugging then!

West Stand Upper is the best view in the ground and I've sat literally on the centre-line for some Champions League matches but it's got the worst atmosphere going. It's the perfect storm for sitting with tourists but it's good for a first date because it's so peaceful. The fact that it's the most expensive seat in the ground (I think, CL games are about £35 there still) is hilarious but it shows just how these things work nowadays. We have a type of fan who will pay more for a better view but a sh*ttier atmosphere....which is a perfect description of what we'll all be doing for three years at Wembley!

MHL is the best and they've given up trying to get people in the centre blocks to sit but they still try it in the Shed End unless it's a big game or a local rival.

The East Stand is a weird one. Because it's the family stand you get blokes in their 20s and 30s who want to stand up but know they probably shouldn't. They might not get involved but when you hear 'East Stand, Give Us A Song' you actually get a response as opposed to the 'West Stand....' getting you dirty looks for having the temerity to address them.

All this stuff is why I love the Bridge (I probably used to love it more in the past) because it's pretty much a microcosm of West London. Long may it stay that way although with 15,000 extra 'business class' seats in the new stadium I think it might become like West London is becoming.

but they still try it in the Shed End unless it's a big game or a local rival.

They really don't in the bit i behind the goal - at least in the rows I've been in.  To the sides, by the corner flag,  people sit down, but it seems to be out of choice rather than due to the stewards.

Yeah, you're right about the microcosm of West London, my sister and brother in law are more "middle-class" (for want of a better description) and I'm the loud, lout of the family (luckily my niece has taken after me and prefers the MHL.)  We only need a family representative in the East Stand to be represented everywhere!

The Shed is where I've known people to receive these letters, but hopefully they've chilled out recently.

I could understand if you've been asked to sit down and refused I guess (though disagree that you should be asked to) but it would be harsh if you've never been asked!

If I did get a ticket I'll be sat down quietly watching the game through fear of being thrown out early or having my head kicked in. People are selling the away tickets for 3k each which is ridiculous, I'm sure no one can begrudge be trying though.
