Hungarian forward Nandor Hidegkuti (2nd R) scores the fifth goal for his team past German goalkeeper Heiner Kwiatkowski (22) during the World Cup first-round match between Hungary and West Germany on 20th June 1954 in Basel.

Hidegkuti scored twice and his teammate Sandor Kocsis four times, as Hungary beat West Germany 8-3. 

Can’t imagine there would have been many predicting West Germany would go on to win the 1954 World Cup after this result!
