‘ You should spend as much time on your school books as your football ones. ‘ Was an often repeated comment by my old dear.

Scotland v Wales at Anfield in 1977. A very disputed penalty. Joe Jordan up against Joey Jones. I remember watching the match.

May be a black-and-white image of one or more people and people standing

Remember watching it too. Live football was rare back in those days. I watched highlights on YouTube recently and that footage took me back.   A very disputed penalty,to say the least!

In fact, looking at that picture it was a free kick to Wales.

John Toshack and Joey Jones before kick off, Wales v Scotland, Oct 1977.
Though that was a great Wales strip back then!😀

Scotland v England at Hampden Park in 1962. Scotland won 2-0 with goals from Rangers greats, Davie Wilson and Eric Caldow. Crowd was just under 132,500.

Looks like the Kings Park End of Hampden.  Some photo and 132,500 is, by any standards, some crowd !

Think Hampden’s  official capacity was 134,000 in 1962. It remained that until the summer of 1973 or 1974.
