Sorry, but  someone has to explain that Rainer Bonhof photo. There are two players of opposite teams who look injured, with Bonhof dribbling past them?  Or are they on warmups?

i absolutely loved watching him play in the 70s.

To be honest I have no idea!

On looking at it again, it might well be a ‘wind up’ photo!! DOH…😀

Football, Bundesliga, 1977/1978, Stadium am Boekelberg, Borussia Moenchengladbach versus FC Schalke 04 2:1, scene of the match, Rainer Bonhof in ball...

Rainer Bonhof of Valencia score his penalty against Pat Jennings of Arsenal during the European Cup Winners Cup Final between Arsenal and Valencia...

Top. Rainer Bonhoff in action for Borussia Monchengladbach

Bottom. Scoring v Arsenal I for Valencia in the 1979/80 European Cup Winners Cup Final.😀

Empty bottles left by fans after a World Cup qualifying match between Scotland and Wales. Drinks include: Pomagne, cider, Smirnoff vodka, Cointreau,...
The morning after the night before. Empty bottles ‘on display’ left by Scotland supporters at Anfield after the Wales v Scotland World Cup Qualifying Match back in Oct 1977.

Great picture. I've noticed a couple of Pomagne bottles. I remember that from years gone bye. A cheap version of Champagne.

I remember as a youngster going to matches and being amazed at the amount of alcohol being drunk inside the grounds.

It changed up in Scotland after the 1980 Scottish Cup Final and the violence on the pitch between the two sets of supporters after the Final Whistle.

Alcohol inside grounds was ‘officially banned’ by the start of 1980/81. Mind you there seemed to be a large increase in the number of supporters taking hipflasks  to football in August 1980!😀

Ah, the 1980 Scottish Cup Final. I think that members of my family were at that game.

I've been on a few Rangers supporters buses to Ibrox and there is always one or two who smuggle on a hip flask or a bottle with vodka and orange in it.

A worker helps to clear the Hampden terraces of bottles and cans.
If the crowd was approximately 100,000. It’s reckoned there would have been over quarter of a million empty bottles and cans to be disposed of!!        Photo from early to mid 1960s.

Tynecastle and Murrayfield in Edinburgh. Not sure of of the year. Both stadiums have changed a lot since this photograph was taken. Though Murrayfield is the home of Scotland's National Rugby Union Side it has been used for football matches and even Rugby League matches.

Great photo. The two Stadiums are close. The attendance record for Murrayfield is an amazing 104,000 for Scotland v Wales on 1st March 1975.  Incidentally Hearts were playing Rangers at Ibrox that day . Rangers  winning 2-1. Had to look that lot up !😀

Thank you for the information about the games. Have just watched a clip of the Scotland v Wales rugby match.  Murrayfield back then is very different to what it is now. Incredible to think that back in the day Hampden, Murrayfield and Ibrox could hold over 100,000 and the maximum attendance at Celtic Park was just over 83,000.

I’m sure he admitted he had taken a couple of Hay Fever tablets from memory.

I think you're right about the Hay Fever tablets. I wonder if the test was carried out ten years later  would Bud have been cleared. Am not sure how much testing has improved and changed over the years.

Bit off subject but do you remember the report from a few years ago about drugs taken by Russian athletes and the collusion of Russia's Government? A friend of mine was the chief investigator and compiled the report. I think that if ever went to Russia he would be arrested.
