No club is top dog forever, and sh*t happens. We were sh*t, then we got good again, and, one day, we will be sh*t again. All these new fans with their "expectations" and their "that's unacceptables" will eventually come to learn this, or they will schlepp off to the next top dog, or start watching snooker or something. I've said this many times in here and everywhere, each season get enough points to avoid relegation and anything else is a bonus. A good run in the FA Cup is an extra good thing, because of that cup, its importance and our history with it. I don't care how rich we are , or how the game has changed, or how blah, blah, blah. I have no right to "expect" anything but that the team that goes out on the pitch in Chelsea Blue do their best, given the circumstances and opposition they find in front of them. And, anyway, someone said previously, it will sort out the fair-weather fans and the tourists and there will be at least 3 benefits of us declining. Firstly, tickets will be that much easier to get, secondly, the away days will be great fun again, thirdly, the media will find a new hate figure and the papers won't be full of CFC "sourced" crap on a slow news day. I don't see us as declining. Manyoo had to come back at us after several years of decline, we knew that was coming, but not exactly left us standing have they ? Citeh have hit what is known as a purple patch, a big juicy purple patch. Throw enough money at it, and that;s what you get, as we know, all too well. Liverpool have had some great success with their transfers lately, but they are not outspending us and below us in table. Spuds got lucky with Kane, but how long they got him for, and same as above, they are not outspending us and below us in table. We will say goodbye to Eden and Antonio, a new page will be turned, who knows whats next ? But we aren't going back to the old days, we're a billion+ £ asset, with soon to be the best club stadium in the capital.

Well I was at the Emirates last night with a clear head, no beer as up early for work today, pissed off last night, mainly because I like a day out at Wembley, even though we would of lost, but I have stuck by Alonso and Moses this season because of last season, but if we want to achieve anything in the next couple of seasons we need a huge up grade in those positions, thought Baka had a better performance but he needed to, Barkley coming on that early wasn't ideal, but he had bollocks always showing for ball in the centre, so let's see how he goes, Eden tryed his best with not much support, sad to say but for his career he needs to leave, not that I want that, but when he looks round and sees the Spanish giants and Manchester clubs with their teams and future teams he must realise time to move on. Eden is a top tier player but at present playing for a second tier club, my second tier club but never the less a second tier club, " carefree"

They have moments where they are but the majority of their play isnt of the level we need. I dont think we should sell them though as they are good players i just think they should be the B team selection and rotate in for the easier matches. I thought for some time they werent quite good enough then i think i just got used to them and see them as part of the Chelsea furniture. We do need to upgrade a few positions and those two stand out for me too.

How we perform in the UEFA (Particularly against Barcelona) will be the telling story if Conte stays or gets sacked. Finishing Top 4 in the league will also contribute in the decision-making from the Chelsea Board. Edited January 25, 20188 yr by ChelseaFanBoy

Plus we can still win the FA and they won't win against City. they won't get any PL title anytime soon so really that's not an elmination in the league cup that should bother us. However, we should focus on improving our domination of the game much more than we've done lately as this is clearly a flaw that has already cost us on many games this season. Anyway, Up the chels! Absolutely. We both know Arsenal's victory was a fluke with those lucky deflections. Willian's injury played a big part as well. It was just pure luck on Arsenal's side. Are they going to depend on LUCK against Man City ?! Disappointing set of circumstances for Chelsea but nothing really to be embarrassed about quite honestly. Imagine how Man Utd felt when they lost to Bristol City. Now THAT'S humiliating LOL ! Edited January 25, 20188 yr by ChelseaFanBoy
January 25, 20188 yr Have been avoiding this thread for a day but it looks safe now. Shame to lose to that lot again but I thought we did okay. Antonio is very aware of our faults as a squad and in my view sets us up accordingly. The setup also made sense away from home in a second leg. If we look past the result, they created virtually nothing and needed two massive deflections to win. We could have played that match 100 times and those two deflections would have never happened again. We created a good chance and scored. In a normal setting that would have been enough. That said, it is always challenging to me that we don't have more going forward when chasing the game. We didn't really seem to do much different. Elneny man marked Hazard, Willian went off and we were cooked. Why Musonda wasn't on the bench I'm not sure. Equally why Antonio chose the subs the way we did I'm not sure. Surely it would have made more sense to put Michy on instead of Barkley and move Pedro to wing back rather than taking him off and subbing on Zappacosta. Anyway Antonio gets paid the big bucks to make these calls so I'll trust him, but we did seem a bit limp going forward which isn't ideal.
January 27, 20188 yr We should have put a bit more faith in the youth players, just because it's a semi all the sudden the likes of Masouda get zero game time. League is priority, CL is essenitial, why can't we even giving the youth players a game in a mini-mouse cup semi?

Then we still lose and people moan about not taking our best chance at a trophy seriously and being too cocky bla bla.
