Arsenal were lucky. Two lucky deflections and us losing Willian changed the game. Barkley was awful and kept losing the ball. We didn' have the rub of the green. Let's hope Dzeko comes and Palmieri.

It has been accepted that this is probably the weakest Arsenal team in 10 years and yet Conte cannot tactically get the better of them. What chance against the likes of Barca when we cannot overcome a mediocre Arsenal team. Even if Ozil and Wilshere do have good games against us it is still an average team at best.

- Conte has a poor record against some top teams, can't handle them, yes I know both goals were flukes. 

- We have no strength in depth, not enough creativity or balance. 

- You buy average, you get average and we have some very average players, apparently can't compete in the market.

- It's not the first time the team has looked lethargic and this was supposed to be a cup semi final, there's no desire. 

- Where do we go from here? I have no f**king idea. I'm probably overeacting but that second half peformance was an abomination.

I think Musonda is injured but if not we seem to be set on sending him to bournemouth on loan. Hudson-odoi played last night in checkatrade so he was never going to feature. I would be happy to give hudson-odoi a chance though.

We're having a right Arsenal season right now, losing to inferior teams due to stubborn tactics, penny pinching in the market, all we need is to drop out of top 4 then make a late push and get the 4th spot and we are basically them.

Play the reserves for 3 matches and win the 3 matches. Play the first team and draw one and lose one against the arsenal.

Surprise surprise conte messes up his tactics against arsenal again. Most Chelsea managers have found it easy beating Wenger teams and this one is one of his worst sides yet conte still messes up against him time after time after time. 

A real shame. But is only the league cup and the right to lose to city in the final end of the day.

How badly are barca going to stuff us though jeez...

It is harsh I know, I just happen to think some defenders invite deflections or crazy situations such as tonight - for me it's a lack of awareness, slow reaction time, wrong body position etc

Agreed, this points out our lack of depth. We should have had a natural wide man on the bench, but instead we have to bring on Barkley who's out of position and rusty.

I agree about their mediocrity. But we struggled against them last season too, when we were otherwise pretty dominant.

I don't think you get what I'm saying. He keeps persisting with 3-5-2 even when it doesn't work over and over again the same way Jose persisted with Ivan to the detriment of the team performance. Somethings got to change. I'm not saying Conte is having a 15/16 season

Willian wasn't playing that well, it wasn't like losing Hazard.

What a frustrating game. Arsenal were just lucky with their two goals. 

f**king hating Contes tactics, good last year but this year he has been fairly crap and very stubborn with his willingness to change. I’m really fed up with the negative football tha5 he brings to the club and I think his days may be numbered.

Bats, as much as I like him really is shot on confidence at the moment and these few minutes here and there are just making things worst for him. The boy needs to at least go out on loan but if contes still here he’s probably safer just leaving.

Definitely don't agree with the 15/16 season all over again we are actually doing very well in the league still in the CL FA Cup.. the 2 we conceded were very lucky but I do agree Conte got it wrong massively today and needs to be braver in these big games.

Sorry, I wasn't clear.  You saying that Ivanovich lost us a large number of games single-handedly was the embarrassing part

Of coarse you can't, that doesn't paint over the fact that we were very poor in the second half. It doesn't paint over ‘some stuff’ that I said, which highlights the problems within the squad, you cannot be satisfied with the display, or our transfer business.

I totally get where you’re coming from and I agree, you couldn’t make it up that they got those two goals, it’s f**king typical.

 

But if Hazard isn’t creating something we look absolutely toothless. The last 20/30mins there where we’re 2-1, we didn’t really look like scoring. That is pretty concerning, Arsenal aren’t exactly known for their defensive solidarity!

It does not matter whether it was fluke or not.  Main point is we scored only one goal over 90 minutes.  Very simple.

It's my opinion that every team was abusing his lack of pace and something needed to be done about that, goals were raining from down his side and he was in bad form from which he recovered from eventually. Not having a go at him I love Ivan and class him as a legend which for some reason some Chelsea fans have a problem doing, but that's my honest take on it. Fair enough if some don't agree.
