January 24, 20188 yr Unfortunately we paid the price for a poor first leg. Let's be honest, tonight was a close game. Their 2 goals were very lucky and it could very easily have been 1-1. However, let's go back 2 weeks and look at the poor Arsenal side we played. With home advantage we did nothing and should have at least been one goal up. With no advantage from the first leg you run the risk of what happened tonight. We have to remember the tie is played over 2 legs. Our famous Anfield Champions League defeats were lost in a similar manner.

But most telling for me is that we only get to sign the players that nobody else is interetsed in. If these two players are going to make such a difference why is it nobody else is interested. Grade B players that will crumble when it matters most

January 24, 20188 yr I think some people are overreacting. Arsenal got a fortunate deflection for the first goal, but the second goal was maybe less so, though still fortunate to get the deflection. Willian went off 30 mins into the game and he's one of our best attacking players alongside hazard, so it changed the game him going off. Also hazard didn't slip from that baka pass and who knows. It's not all doom and gloom

January 24, 20188 yr Fine margins. Two deflections don't fall our way and an injury that upsets the gameplan. Surprised Musonda wasn't on the bench with the latter in mind as with no real creative spark 3/5/2 was never going to work. Edited January 24, 20188 yr by charierre
January 24, 20188 yr And the team who just beat us comfortably are signing aubamayang, honestly think the next 5 years are gona be very grim, our board just seen to be on a sabotage mission, but because roman saved us nobody is allowed to complain about him ??

It's not all doom and gloom I'm not even thinking about that, we are a better team and should've won both games. Why is it that when we set out to attack we create 0 chances? The formation is bad and Conte keeps using it. In no universe would we win that game in the second half.

There’s not much he could do with either goals. That chances of that first one happening is probably tiny. The second is just an unlucky deflection. It’s typical that they’d get it against us though.
January 24, 20188 yr Their two goals were extremely lucky, but they deserved to go through. Refund every single one of those outstanding fans who travelled to watch those cowards give the ball away every ten seconds; the supporters were brilliant, their on-field representatives anything but. In my opinion, the way we approach this type of match is so cowardly and it is consistently hindering us. In the first ten minutes we knocked the ball around really well and our movement in the front three was really causing them problems, but YET AGAIN we decide to sit back and let them come onto us. Why the f**king Christ did we not just go for the jugular after we got the first goal? Having watched this Arsenal team be so dreadful for many years now, we should have known that it takes them until the second half to actually start f**king playing. If we had of went for it, I genuinely believe we could have scored the second goal and who knows what would have happened. If that was Man City tonight, a team who actually have a style of play, they would have made sure they put wave after wave of attack on those bastards and ended the tie early. Hazard will never go on to be one of the world's best, it makes me sad to say that but it just won't happen. He has the most amazing ability, but as shown in the second half he just goes missing and I lost count of the amount of times he gave the ball away. In fairness though, I think Zidane would have had trouble playing alongside Michy, who looks as much a footballer as Christopher Biggins does. Fair play to Arsenal for getting through, not sure their fans realised that they were actually watching a semi-final of a major domestic trophy though. The atmosphere at Stamford Bridge is pretty dire at the best of times, but f**k me, Arsenal really do sum up just how corporate football is now. Most importantly though, they can put three passes together and actually form a decent attack most of the time, unlike us. And they'll be playing at Wembley in a month, unlike us. What a sh*tshow.

January 24, 20188 yr Musonda for Willian and we keep playing the same way, simple. Even Hudson-Odoi would have given Conte the option of sticking with 3-4-3
