What actually started as a stella start to his career at Chelsea is starting to look like a flash in the pan in a season when we had an easier schedule than everyone else. Very few of the signings seem to have worked. When we recruit grade B players then we shouldn't be surprised when they fail when it really matters.

Having said that i thought it was one of the best performances i have seen from Baka.

Not enough players on the pitch that can play the little 1-2's and the sort of football that makes hazard thrive, as soon as Willian came off we didn't ever look like scoring.

It's fine playing kante and Bakayoko, but having those 2 defensive minded players, should allow us to play with 2 attacking wing backs, but we don't.

Hopefully emerson is the real deal. It's pretty turgid stuff at the moment.

Musonda or Hudson odoi should've been on the bench. Barkley didn't look ready to play a game of that intensity.

Woeful, both tactically and effort wise. Having said that, there's only one team winning this cup anyway and losing a final at Wembley is the worst feeling.

Hazard was head and shoulders our best player this evening. Felt sorry for him. Nobody else was showing the same commitment and passion.

Bakayoko was......he was breaking up play and running forward with the ball, that is what we want from a midfielder like him. His ball into Hazard was spot on too, Hazard should have done better but lost his balance.

Barkley never should have played in this game, what does Musonda have to do to get a f**king game.

A very good point previously made by one of our forum members was that if Barkley had actually come through our youth set up he never would have made the first team. Hopefully its match rustiness but at the moment unfortunately he is proving our original pessimism over his signing correct.

I only managed to catch the second half so can’t comment on the first half but from what I saw we never looked like scoring, which has happened far too many times in games recently. Their two goals were both fortunate but we really do need to improve quickly, or the Barcelona game could be an embarrassment.

Disappointing given how we started and we got worse as the game went on. Barely tested Ospina. Can’t blame Rudiger for the goals, freak goals. He’s been absolutely solid this season

Negatives:

- Moses looks to be lacking confidence

- A lack of creativity is a problem this season

- Conte looks down this season and it’s filtering through the team

Some positives:

- Bakayoko played well and we saw some of his strengths.

- Barkley whilst he could have done more, did show some nice flashes and touches. For a first game, not a bad effort.
