Thomas Partey

Featured Replies

It's not possible to sign every good player out there, I'm sure Partey is one, but we have signed our first options, so can't stop our rivals from buying him. Arsenal had to get rid of two first teamers to get him, if he's out for some reasons, they don't have much depth to cover

Apparently the main reason we couldnt get Partey is because we couldn't shift enough of our deadwood... What a joke. Struggling to shift these sh*te players so all we can do is endless and pointless loans over and over again and now we've missed out on a quality player because of it.

Cannot wait for the new loan rules to come in where we can't do this bullcrap anymore. And for the idiots who talk about how much money we make because of these loans - we make f**k all! Vast majority of our loanees go out for free and we pay some of the wages as well. Only player we got a loan fee for atm is Bakayoko and its only a measly, good for nothing 1.8m!

The way we use the loan system is pathetic, and the sooner the new rules are here the better.

We were never in for Partey, it was blatantly his agent using us to get Arsenal to up their offer.

Pretty much every player leaving on loan carries a loan fee, that's literally how they work. It's just not widely reported what those fees are.

Barkley's loan to Villa is rumoured to be up to £11m. Bakayoko's fee to Napoli is widely reported to be £4.5m, RLC is apparently £2m.

So that's getting on for £20m in loan fees already, not too shabby if you ask me.

If he carries his Athletico form over, Arsenal have a real game changer here, this guy is class in that DM position

Big if, Rodri was deemed the second coming of jesus when he left Leti for City.

A lot of players tend to struggle once they leave Simeone's system, although that said Partey has an advantage Rodri, Miranda, Godin and Greizmann didn't in respect that his new team play a similar brand of backs to the walls footy Simeone does.

You are terribly misinformed. Every loan deal has a loan fee and carries subsidized wages.

The agents were just using us as a way to bump up the price.

Partey won't transform Arsenal this season. That would be Gabriel.

Take it easy man.

The last DM they signed was destined to be the bestest ever also, he ended up being an add on to the signing Partey....that went well.

Should have signed this guy. Gutted that we d*cked around over a bang average Rice who we didn't get anyway

We already have one B2B player more suited to counter attacking sides who's struggling to make a full impact in our possession based system, we don't need another. We need a Rice esque player a lot more than a Partey esque one.

Furthermore, the success rate of players after leaving Simeone's system isn't particularly high (think we had the only two that have truly managed to improve and evolve post leaving the Argentine), 18 months ago Rodri was considered the second coming of Jesus and look at him now. Also Hernandez and Greizmann two higher profile examples.
