I was fortunate to watch Arg v Bolivia last night, age just isn’t slowing this mofo down, I’m struggling to think of a striker at his peak who is so adept, and still so absolute Razorin the box, a sublime Hatrick again

Cant find anywhere else to write this, but Messi tonight, playing Italy on his own if he wanted to, this Argentina side are going to be a bit good the WC, Jorginho chasing shadows, simply sublime

Doesn't score like he used to, but he's now possibly the best playmaker in the world. Just a genius footballer.

Football has ran out of unique players like this. Ronaldinho and Zidane have been gone for a while now, Neymar hasn't really lived up to what everybody thought he would be, Ronaldo and Messi are getting older. Who is the next once in a generation player? Some are saying Mbappe, but I don't see it. He's a brilliant player, but he's not on that same level.

Football is producing too much of the same type of player for me. I want to see something different.

It wasn't too long ago we had all kinds of players. Robben, Kaka, Lampard, Ronaldo, Shevchenko, Zidane, Suarez, Torres, Villa, Terry, *cough* Gerrard *cough*, Scholes, Vidic, Pirlo, Iniesta, Cafu, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Makelele, Viera, Maldini, Nesta, Cannavaro, Drogba, Van Persie, Rooney.........I could go on. So many different types of players with unique skill sets. We don't really have that anymore. Players these days are too similar with a few that stand out from the rest.

Messi, Ronaldo, Modric and Ibrahimovic are the last ones standing from that era.

I think it is because the game is becoming more and more structured and it reward structured football. A very good example are us and city. We are more successful under Tuchel than lamp but our offense is very robotic. City has dominated pl for years but their football can be very hard to watch.

Oops forget to add. Talking about cr7, him and Bruno playing I want to go wherever I want to go football is one of the big reason why United struggle this season.

Even with Messi getting older, I argue this Argentina team has more chances in the next wc than 4 years ago simply because now they have good gk n better cb.

Only Donnarumma prevented him, from what I watched he will score shed loads still, looks back to full Fifa 22 Alien mode, had 7 good goal scoring oops, and he blamed covid for his sh*ttier than normal season

He’s also probably been the best passer of a ball whilst he’s been playing as well, just his absolutely ridiculous amount of goals he’sscored is frightening, but 5 in a game, only the second time he’s achieved that feat, the other a CL game against BL.
