Lol...where word 'serious' appears at least 3 times in that brief heading...I wouldn't trust that person to own/run your club.

Don't trust any of them yet, though the Candy man seems to have a solid plan to develop the Bridge...or maybe a new stadium.

Again completely wrong way to look at it. You should think of Chelsea as like a very expensive house you rent out. You don’t care if the rent doesn’t cover the costs because you make all your money on the house price going up.

I’ll say it again, despite the losses Abramovitch has likely made a profit through owning chelsea. It’s value today is about20-30x what he paid for it. . The annual losses of Chelsea probably just help with taxes.

Not when you have to invest money every year to "renovate" the house

Top 5 most expensive football club acquisitions to date ...

  1. Manchester United - Glazer Family - €878 million
  2. Liverpool - Fenway Sports Group - €333 million
  3. Manchester City - Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al Nahyan - €233 million
  4. Chelsea - Roman Abramovich - €155.5 million
  5. Paris Saint-Germain – Qatar Sports Investment Group - €80 million

And Roman wants £3 billion for us .... which at today's exchange rate is €3.5 billion ... or put another way 4 times as much as anyone has ever paid for a  football club !

Let's hope our prospective purchaser is more interested in bragging rights than value for money ! :-)

Our squad is worth 800m right now, we are the most recent CL winners and we're a top 4 team so all that puts the price up and the PL is a rich league with good sponsorship deals.

Not sure if all possible things added up make that 3 billion, I'm guessing not, but all of the other teams on the list were bought much before the prices went up in football. That being said, the Newcastle new owners didn't spend close to 1billion in order to buy that club, now we can argue that their squad is much lower in value but the difference in price is still huge.

That list is well out of date.

As you say Newcastle cost significantly more than FSG paid to buy Liverpool , Burnley was sold for more than RA paid for Chelsea.

Then you have the likes of City who sold 13% for circa £265 million some years ago and also Usmanov sold his 30% shares in Arsenal for £600 million.

I personally doubt that RA will get close to £3 billion my view is it will at most be £2 billion with some sort of of commitment to making investments be they in the playing squad and or stadium move or improvements.

Having said that I wonder if it will be Fordsham that is sold or the stand alone company that is Chelsea FC.

Why does that matter? Well there is property asssets in Fordsham which are I suspect the hotels , the flats, the sports club and they not only have value they also are key to any future development/ redevelopment  plans
