Enzo Fernandez - not wanted in England, the Falklands or probably Argentina now

So can we can claim ownership on France then, as were closer to France than Argentina is to the Falklands.

Being near something is not a reason to own it, you say its a simplistic reason, its not, its a totally moronic reason.

It's a simplistic reason alright, just because it's simple doesn't always mean it's the ultimate reason, a context should be in play. Your comparison example is not that accurate, might as well use taiwan and china. Do you think taiwan is part of china?

So racism is okay if you're giddy? Interesting take. Thank god he didn't win the world cup again or we'd have the whole debacle again with him racially abusing Nico Williams for his heritage. I suppose he'd only have to say sorry then it would all be okay though.

Driving ban is minor? And if he had hit and killed a child whilst doing so? Just minor? You are a weird person and i can only assume this over the top defending of the individual stems from a sexual attraction, there is no other logical explanation.

Argentine leader rejects Falklands vote - Yahoo News Singapore

You didn't seem to get the point of the explanation regarding that racism incident, for you it's a lifetime crime no matter what. Be interesting to see your view on JT's case. Driving ban is minor on its own unless it's due to casualty involved. You really like all players to become a 100% role model I see.

So 99,8% of falklands people prefer to be british then argentina has little to argue because like I said it depends on the people. Good work for digging up the info for me.

There is a difference between condoning racism and stating the euphoria caught in the moment case. His apology and explanation seem to successfully convince fofana, the impacted so called victim to still be all sunshine with him yet here you are still holding grudge as if you're the victim. His private life like I said we don't know the detail. Earlier you mentioned leaving out the mother of his children aka wife/gf so it's the typical relationship issue but now the kids too? Ban driving is really minor for something you like to add into his sins.

Okay about the falkland islands, I put my statement there so someone would come out with more context, snedger did a half hearted job but you did well providing the info. No better way to resolve this ownership issue by asking the people who already live in falkland.

The arguments deployed are no different to those used to defend mass murder in the West Bank and Gaza. Its all bonkers to me. "It's only a gun shot to a childs throat"... All children are Hamas, Its only a little bomb, its only a little bit of hatred...

ah yeah, the classic, Its just a little bit of racism line.... I dont get why people want to justify racism or expose their own racism by defending a man who admited he sang racist songs. Fofana doesnt represent all black footballers insulted by the song... I just dont get this need to defend an absolute crass idiot who is so dislikable no clubs really want to pay for his services.

If someone is racist, they will say racist things. If someone isn't racist, they won't say racist things.

Saying sorry won't change their intent or the fact they thought it was okay in the first place.

JT was found innocent in a court of law, unless you know something i don't?

Driving ban isn't minor. If i shoot a gun into a crowd and it doesn't hit anyone, is that a minor thing?

Yes, for simplistic reason that may be just the case regarding falkland islands ownership unless there is some extraordinary reason to suggest otherwise. Would you like to elaborate? As a neutral in this case, I might miss the context.

Well, I did a 'half hearted job' of explaining because I am no expert on this matter, but my understanding is something along the lines of the French got there first but gave up and left, then the British arrived and managed to inhabit and farm it. The Argentinians (European settlers/conquistadors) were probably too busy ethnically cleansing the mainland to care about the Falklands at the time.

I suggest that you can research it and form your own opinion though. But ultimately and in the context of Enzo Fernandez, I believe that given he lives and earns his salary in the UK, it would have been much better if he'd kept out of the graffiti ridden bedsheet waving and focused on celebrating the football victory.

Some perspective need to prevail.

Nice to see the players interacting with the fans.

Unlucky in the final Enzo, can't say I feel bad for you though

Couldn't be arsed to do research for things happened centuries ago, I put that distance statement was merely to bait out people to come out to tell the story because the simplistic reasoning provided on the surface is that distance narrative. The story was told and my purpose is achieved and that should be it regarding falkland islands.

Couldn't disagree with your last statement but do you think it's because of argentina is such a toxic camp that he was maybe influenced badly? I notice his problematic behavior happened when he was with his national team.

Being racist and saying racist things are not the same. I didn't think JT was racist back even though he called someone black cnut and by your standard it should be flagged as racist already. Also the same JT didn't act like a role model when he cheated with his teammates partner. Fortunately for Chelsea, wayne was an insignificant influence both on the pitch and in the dressing room otherwise Chelsea would have suffered.

Sometimes people do get caught in the moment, not that it's right but it shouldn't be a lifetime crime as you put it. Apology doesn't matter anymore now? By apologizing means he admitted his mistake and better this than complete denial, right? For what it's worth, enzo case didn't even get to the court.

Driving ban on its own is minor, no need to bring out the what if worst scenario when it clearly didn't happen. Shooting into a crowd is a crime even though no one was hit, the intent was there. Driving ban for excessive speeding/drunk driving on the road do not have the same intent.

so what reasons are there for Argentina to claim ownership., other than its nearby?

I thought the racist conversation was shut down a long time ago. And if I recall, one of the cheesy posters having the argument here and calling him racist, was in fact defending Enzo at the time (alongside me funnily enough)....yep. Screenshot below

I said it at the time, Enzo was a stupid twat. Stupidity and racism however are different things. The song makes no reference to race, skin colour or ethnicity. Stupid yes. Xenophopic proberly. Racist No.

The chant was immature, offensive and something that he should never have broadcast. But singing along to a chant in a post-match celebration is not, by itself, proof that he is a racist person. Racism is generally understood as prejudice or discrimination against people because of their race or ethnicity. Someone can participate in offensive behaviour without that behaviour necessarily reflecting deeply held racist beliefs.

Reasonable people can agree that the chant was in bad taste and ill judged, without making sweeping conclusions that one incident alone proves that Fernández himself is a racist.

Chelsea dropped the investigation and rightly so. Enzo was also right to apologise. Stupid. But Not racist.

Oh how I missed this conversation.....

I've matured and grown as a person, your turn next.

He really didn't.

He said, 'I didn't call you a ****' when the ref was being complained at. Early footage showed that, and then they decided to blur his mouth to fit the narrative the media were pushing.
