England had so much go there way today. Nigeria were by far the better team.

She was really poor today. And the red card, what a brainless thing to do. She still has a lot to learn.

Yep but like Rooney, Beckham, Suarez, Hazard (with the ball boy) and most recently Bukayo Saka etc...with the right character, these sort of moments early in a career are often the springboard to greatness.

James was being kicked around and shirt pulled because she was the only player able to play through Nigeria's press, basically playing in central midfield. It's not necessarily a bad thing that she refused to cop that and actually fought back. It goes with being a star player.

I'd take that any day of the week over the meek surrender to mediocrity offered by players like Ziyech, Havertz or Pulisic.

She wasn't poor. England's only player able to break Nigeria's press. England were so disorganised in attack she was effectively playing in central midfield, often almost in a DM role to receive the ball and start the counter-attack. Nigeria knew she was England's only real threat.

Anyway without James available and England unable to draw on a Fran Kirby from the bench, the rest of the teams on that side of the draw (Colombia, Jamaica, France, Morocco and Australia) would be salivating knowing that they can sit deep and counter in relative safety.

She lost a lot of one to ones and was a bit lazy In defending. On the other hand most of our midfield and attacking players looked worse than in previous games.

Statement about abuse directed at Lauren. Don't know what was written about Lauren and frankly I can't be bothered to find out. Disgraceful that she suffered abuse.

Don’t want to be too negative but have found Lauren a bit lazy so far this season! She can still pull out an assist or a goal, but just think she’s not playing to her usual standards!
