Being proactive means starting the conversations now and finalizing agreements on 1st Jan

After seeing what we are lacking in midfield I`m not sure Scott is the right fit, we need a solid midfielder willing to sit and battle, bring strength and structure and that would go against his natural game which is to carry the ball forward at every opportunity.

I'm saying this for months here. Zubimendi or Scott would not work IMHO because we are not controlling football matches that much, nor we will anytime soon. Under Alonso we will need to defend the transition a lot and, if fit, James is as good as any other midfielder in this world next to Caicedo.

It's a big IF, but once Caicedo is back and James stays fit, people will be amazed at how good they are together. James will grow into that role as long as his muscles allow it. He has all the tools to play that role.
