Chelsea vs QPR in the FA Cup

It's cup week! QPR first and then Everton a few days later.

Given that QPR are struggling in the Championship and we have them at home, and we have such a depleted squad, it would make good sense to give starts to Sidwell (despite his performance yesterday), Sinclair and Pizarro.

I would expect to see Ashley and Ferreira play but other than that it is hard to see too many changes. Personalluy, despite his form, I wouldn't mind seeing Ballack rested against QPR and played against Everton as he is not long back from a long absence and it might not be ideal for him to play too many games in quick succession.

I too would rest Ballack, but for another reason. To protect him from further injury.

This is QP ha's biggest game for donkey's years. Despite their position in the league our West London neighbours will be up for it big-time. I expect the blood, snot and tackles to be flying on the pitch on Saturday, and it won't be a place for the faint-hearted.

I'm really looking forward to this one.

I read that we will buy Anelka before the game and that he can therefore play but it's probably just a rumour.

Still, if we sign him then maybe we can give him some time on the pitch too.

Usually this would be a game for Carlo but since both he and Cech are injured it's down to Hilario or Taylor. Should we rest Hilario and let young Taylor have a go?

In normal circumstances we would probably rest a few midfielders (apart from Lampard) but now we don't have too many choices there. Can we rest anyone?

If we play with three midfielders then who should play with Sidwell? Mikel perhaps since he didn't get that much time against Fulham?

they might be towards the bottom of the division below us but if we play a team of youngster and new signings (if there are any) then were just asking for a giant killing

I am still to see official confirmation of this signing - there is nothing on it on the official site and no news of him joining the squad anywhere so I am starting to think it either may not happen or that there are at least still a number of things to be tied up.

I think we will field a decent team, backed by a strong bench. I also think we should use as many of our African players as possible before they all take off. I also feel that with Everton just round the corner, we will see the likes of Sinclair and Sidwell play

I truly hope we don't try and rush anyone back from injury just for this game, therefore I don't expect to see Cech, terry, Lamps, Malouda or Sheva play

And I expect it to be a tight game. Although I am glad that we are at home. I think these games are always dangerous becuase, if we don't take it to them from the get go, they will build with confidence...plus, they will play as if there is nothing to lose. A deadly combination

What's the betting Avram selects a mixture of young and old and keeps a few big names on the bench for the possible embarrassing emergency situation Problem could be he doesn't have too many options within the squad. Rangers will be no pushover, London derby and new italien coach too.Grant will want to keep as many big names fresh for the carling cup.

Or else play Sahar instead of Sweepy and put Sweepy where Cole plays. If I'm not mistaking he did a good job there in a few games before. He can use his speed to break through the middle. And we wont have to put up with his abysmal crosses

I can only really see Sinclair getting a start from the youngsters and the rest of the team being pretty much along the lines of the Fulham match with a little rotation of the top names and Sidwell getting another chance. Sahar is back from loan so may feature on the bench and get some playing time in the second half depending on how the game is going.

QPR will be something of an unknown quantity to themselves as much as us as they have brought in 7 or 8 new players who could all potentially make their debut.
