ethicalstrategy
It's all happening today....not! Anyone else, like me, disappointed by the January transfer activity? Not for us specifically but just in general. The most exciting part was the build up in December with all sorts of exciting names being bandied about. And of course, Star's legendary post about our Barcelona bid which unfortunately disappeared up it's own arse
Maksimov
Who can say for sure that we didn't make the Barca bid? Maybe we made a bid, but it was turned down.
Tim
[table=:qd0x4f3j][/table:qd0x4f3j]Yeah it's a shame that one came to nothing, but remember he only said we'd made a bid, so it could have been quietly turned down without the press getting hold of it. Admittedly its not normal for Chels, but some transfers do happen without a huge media circus! I agree though, it's been rather unspectacular in general... dreadis
Don't tell me Chelsea transfer activities are all about being spectacular!? I, for one, am happy with the activities done during the transfer window: one experienced (Nic) who has already shown his worth, one needed as a backup (Ivanovic) and one to be a future star (Di Santo)...Our squad is already huge! You cannot just go around spending sh*tloads of money just because we are prone to injuries and because Roman can afford it. What will happen in the end when the are all healthy? You will have a reserve team better than most of the premiership teams, but not playing in the first team! I think the team is coping very well at the moment...One thing they have to learn (cough, Shaun, cough) is how to score when given a clear chance...better to say, 2 chances!!! The Moos
I am a bit disappointed about this transfer window. I think Chelsea did rather well. We got Anelka who is a proven goal scorer; we got Ivanovic who's young and talanted and chased by some other big teams; and we got Di Santo who I know nothing about but seems to be a nice talented youngster. Could be alot worse. It's not like teams buy the biggest names in january. Most leave that to the summer. But there hasn't been much transfers by other teams. Juventus were chasing Banega, VDV and some others and got...none (almost). Disappointed there.

I wasn't suggesting that a bid wasn't made but just that it was disappointing that it came to nothing and that we never found out who the bid was for. The tea lady's daughter's friend's uncle has notoriously bad hearing, so what the tea lady really saw was just Maka and Essien with a spotted bitch(a dalmatian). blizeH
316: "Everton repotedly have got Sidwell and he is currently undergoing medical." Chances of this happening when Makalele can't play every game, and Mikel/Essien are away at the ACN? Zero I'd say.
snitrbt25
Sources close to a source who has a source within a source has just said Daniel Alves will sign for €25 million with Bouhlarouz staying at Sevilla in a permanent deal.

But Defoe is a done deal.

(alas Zlatan will cost at least 30 million quid...and to think, if they'd listen to me we could've got him for half that before he went to Italy...) But I'm not sure if we want this older more mature Zlatan. I'd preferred the good old "Making enemies is good" Zlatan. I think he was playing with Ajax when he decided not to say anything to swedish newspapers or tv and said that he is going to found Zlatan-tv or something like that so the stories about him goes right. Maybe Moos know more about this... If Inter is willing to trade Zlatan for Drogs and give some money to us I'm prepared to negotiate. The english press would love to have those two in chelsea so the stories would never end. I prefer not to give them that joy.
Blue Sun Tzu
Dreams are free my friend, dreams are free! Not the dream I had the other night that led to me orgasmically calling out the names of a couple of ex-girlfriends in my sleep much to the chagrin of my girlfriend! Let's just say much groveling over an expensive dinner was the order of the following evening!
