loz
The 30 has been cut to 23 Goalkeepers: David James (Portsmouth), Scott Carson (Liverpool on loan at Aston Villa), Chris Kirkland (Wigan) Defenders: Wayne Bridge (Chelsea), Ashley Cole (Chelsea), Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United), Wes Brown (Manchester United), Joleon Lescott (Everton), Micah Richards (Manchester City), Matthew Upson (West Ham United), Jonathan Woodgate (Tottenham Hotspur) Midfielders: Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Gareth Barry (Aston Villa), Jermaine Jenas (Tottenham Hotspur), Owen Hargreaves (Manchester United), Joe Cole (Chelsea), Ashley Young (Aston Villa), Stewart Downing (Middlesbrough), Shaun Wright-Phillips (Chelsea), David Bentley (Blackburn Rovers) Forwards: Gabriel Agbonlahor (Aston Villa), Michael Owen (Newcastle United), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Peter Crouch (Liverpool) Obviously glad to see the Chelsea players in there but they were pretty much certainties anyway. Also pleased to see Agbonlahor, Young and Bentley in it and hope they stay in Capello's plans long term. Only player I would question being in it is Downing and Kirkland as I would have Green in ahead of him. I hope to see a back four of Bridge, Rio, Woodgate and Richards. As for midfield well I think Barry, Gerrard and Joe will play and this means the last position is wide right which may mean SWP misses out as he has been far more effective in the centre than out wide. So Bentley may get to start. Up front I think he may go with Crouch and Rooney as Owen is not at the races just now.
JT26CFC
well Gerrard is captaining the game, and now evryone has jumped on the bandwagon saying that Gerrard should be the permanent captain for england
The Moos
Nice to see four Chelsea players there and that's without the injured Lampard and Terry. Will be interesting to see Gerrard as captain. I hope he sucks. Still, can't see that many other players in the squad who can be captains. Ferdinand or Owen perhaps but I still think Gerrard is the most qualified. And it's only temporary. When JT is back he'll get his captaincy back, no question. He can push the team in a way that no other player in the England squad can.
jack h
Im looking foreward to the game purely because with all the fuss over Capello im now expecting a world class performance though i no that wont be the case. Dissapointed to see that the overated c**t will be captain And i dont understand how Rooney manages to escape criticism whem hes been worse for england than Lampard
bjd
Will be interesting to see Gerrard as captain. I hope he sucks. I think its a safe bet. He was captain for our last two matches both of which we lost and both of which we were crying out for an inspiration to lead the team. The result? Us English can concentrate on our gardening this Summer.
just
The 30 has been cut to 23Also pleased to see Agbonlahor, Young and Bentley in it and hope they stay in Capello's plans long term. With you on that Lozzer. All three deserve to be in the squad before Totty Becks. And so does Aaron Lennon if his performance against Man U today is anything to go by. Agree about your views on Robert Green as well. A half decent keeper, and at the moment, half decent is all England can hope for.

BlueBeard
I had to laugh when I saw this squad selection - hardly anything's changed since McClaren was picking the side. How the f*ck do some of these players get anywhere near international selection??? In some cases it's pretty clear that they're selected simply because they play for the scousers or manure. Would Crouch or Brown get selected if they were at Sunderland or Portsmouth? Chris Kirkland - good keeper, but has an injury record similar to Darren Anderton and Michael Owen. Ashley Cole - he's been sh*te for nearly two years Rio Ferdinand - makes so many mistakes it's unbelievable he's still in the United side, let alone England Wes Brown - ***see Rio Ferdinand*** Steven Gerrard - over-rated scouse turd, not good enough at international level, especially against the better teams Stewart Downing - someone's having a f*ckin' laugh, surely? Michael Owen - always injured, and even when fit he's lost his pace Wayne Rooney - over-rated scouse turd, skillful player occasionally, but not a true striker Peter Crouch - ***see Stewart Downing*** Apart from that shower of w*nkers, the squad looks OK, and it's good to see the likes of Upson, Jenas, Bentley and Agbonlahor getting recognition for their excellent form. Bloody glad I support Scotland though

Doesn't seem afraid to ruffle a few feathers and give youth a chance too. Was gutted for Agbonlahor though. One of my favourite strikers the past couple of seasons. Agree too about Lennon. He's really picked up the pace under Ramos and is even getting a couple of decent crosses into the box now!

Tim W
Can't be arsed at all. I used to be really up for Internationals (the old Wembly packed on a Wedensday night used to be a cracking atmosphere) but over the years all the crap has taken its toll and I couldn't give a flying f**k whether we win or lose and when I think that I'm a pretty proud Englishman at heart it makes me sad. Give the reins to Rednapp (H) let him pick the England side from the Championship pay them 5 bob a game and bring back some passion and pride!
