bjd Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Im never one for singling out players, particularly in light of the collective disgrace of today - it gives me no pleasure to say this but i think Malouda needs special a mention. The bloke is an utter disgrace, a total w**ker with an attitude that stinks like my converse. Hes f**king sh*te , and I for one, will not bat an eyelid if he never ever plays for us again. And i never said that about Veron.
coco Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 I always get nervous when we sign a player and he scores in his first game, ever since Mutu. Its a dam curse i tell ya !
bjd Posted March 9, 2008 Author Posted March 9, 2008 Say what you will, but at least Mutu looked like he gave a sh*t. There was a (very) brief period when it looked like Mutu might become a Chelsea legend. Though i did also say that about Boula after the Barca home game last year!
g3.7 Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 mutu was (and is) a quality player who f*cked it all up with us. malouda is a £14m bolo zenden. when the summmer comes, and we inevitably sign attacking players, why not go for ones who take risks rather than ones who are blunt and pedestrian?
loz Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 I was very negative about Malouda when we signed him and then went through a period of feeling guilty about it as every player deserves a fair chance however I now think he is a disgrace. Not so much because of his form but more because of his effort. Lots of players have struggled in their first season or so - Drogba, Essien, Veron, Ballack, Sheva, Crespo, Carvalho, SWP etc etc etc etc (the list is endless) but for me Malouda does something that I wouldn't pin on any of those listed players - he genuinely appears as if he can't be arsed.
Guest Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 His completely unsuited to our formation these days, I think his days are unnumbered. And Loz has a very good point, I can generally accept any player as long as they are working their socks off for the team. But they if they aren't, they should be be kicked into shape.
g3.7 Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 His completely unsuited to our formation these days, I think his days are unnumbered. as I have said previously, that's nonsense.
loz Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 If we are accepting that our formation these days is basically Jose's 433/451 formation then Malouda fits it perfectly in terms of what Jose created. He is a wide man who isn't a winger, who can cut inside and look to bring the central players into the game. The difference is that wingers like Duff had the ability, the balance and the work ethic to make that role work however Malouda doesn't have these things and is now realising (just as Kezman did) that his status in the league he made his mark in was as much to do with the quality of the defenders in it as it was his own ability.
blizeH Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Can anyone recite a single game where he's played decently for us?
Phillip Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 The Community Shield, and then it was all downhill from there.

Is the French Le Championnat that poor such that a worthless player like Malouda can be a star in that league? Or was it because he was playing with a bunch of other good players at Lyon, who made a bad player (Malouda) look good?
loz Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 The French league is extremely weak. The quality of Ligue 1 as a whole is very very poor.
Alan Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Say what you will, but at least Mutu looked like he gave a sh*t.There was a (very) brief period when it looked like Mutu might become a Chelsea legend. Ah I remember those days, seems like so long ago
Guest zompus Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Guys please. Do not forgot how Drogba and Essien played in there first year here, at Chelsea. Give Malouda one free season and then, please, judge him on the second. I'm sure going by how Essien and Drogba have done, he will not let us down. :-) In the meantime, let's pray he doesn't become injury prone like Robben and Duff were.

I take what you are saying but thats not my point. The point isnt about his form or quality. Its about his attitude and effort. Both of which stink.
Phillip Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Correct. Even Kezman tried, and how painful is was to watch him huff and puff and get nothing out of his effort. Kezman at Chelsea can be summed up as "all effort, no results." Malouda is the total opposite of Kezman in that respect; he can be summed up as "no effort, no results."

His attitiude and effort were fine before the club sank into the farce it has become now. In fact, players such as Malouda and Essien should be applauded for refusing to give their all to a man not deserving their respect and who would subsequently benefit from those efforts. They should be treated as heroes.
Phillip Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 I am glad I am not working with you, Peeking Duck. Just go on strike when you don't like the boss? No, it does not work that way. You will just get your ass fired!

You will just get your ass fired! Not at all Phillip. But if I were a surgeon's assistant and you, as director of the hospital, installed a street sweeper as head surgeon, then yes, I would have misgivings about your skill set. EDIT: and yes I would go on strike

MURDOCH_(8) Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Can anyone recite a single game where he's played decently for us? Birmingham at home got me excited about him now I can't stand the guy, as everyone has said his attitude stinks, he hasn't shown many(if any) good qualitys and to be honest everytime he plays it's like playing with ten men, he offers absolutly nothing to the team, in fact I would rather play with ten men, his ball retention is that bad.
