After last nights match and what i saw can someone tell me why S.Kalou is picked before S.W.P.I know Kalou scored,but in my opinion S.W.P is a better player he needs a run in the team for Chelsea to get the best out of him,and why do fans dislike Avram Grant?.and have we got over the barnsley result?

Kalou over SWP at the moment, SWP had a good spell, but just isn't consistant enough.

What Gem said, really. I think SWP is a lot better on his day, but definitely lacks consistency.

I think he gets a raw deal sometimes, as he has contributed a fair share of goals and assists this season, and is only 20, but people seem to think he should be a world beater already.

I think he has real promise and am pleased he is starting head of the ever irratic SWP. Shaun on his day is superb, but I don't think anyone, even the man himself, can predict when that day is going to be.

Kalou definitely. I know he can be wasteful, but he's still young and he's improving, unlike SWP who's form has gone from disappointing to man of the match contender all the way back to what a waste of money.

Your second question: Why do some fans dislike Avram Grant? Speaking for myself, it's not personal, I just don't think he's the man for the job, never has been, and in all likelihood never will be.

Have we got over Barnsley? Yes and no. However, again speaking personally, the Carling Cup Final leaves far deeper scars than a yet another shock exit in a year of FA Cup shocks.. that incredible Quarter Final lineup does make it easier to tolerate.

to be fair to kalou, his shooting has definately got better. hes got sometnhing like 7 in the last 11 games. its his propensity to be offside that infuriates. as someone else on her once said, he was born offside.

At one point, even up until quite recently, I would have gone for SWP every time. But I've just run out of patience with him. His displays against Spurs and Barnsley were just woeful.

We keep saying "he needs a decent run in the side", but he gets a run and just seems to get worse and worse. I think his last decent game was the Everton cc semi final.

He's clearly a "confidence player" but we are not the sort of club who can just keep playing a guy and hope he finds some sort of form.

Kalou gives us a lot more. He is still a bit hit and miss but SWP is just plain hopeless.

What a choice! They are both the worst finishers that I have ever seen.

Well, according to the BBC, Saloman has 10 goals in all competitions this season, and is our second top scorer along with Didier, and only 4 behind Frank.

So not exactly sh*t is it, especially for someone who isn't a striker.

So i don't think the comparison is fair, even if we all agree Kalou's shooting can get better.

Kalou easily, look how long Wright-Phillips has had to improve and make a real mark on the side and he hasn't delivered. I actualy can't stand watching Wright-Phillips play, he is so wasteful and although it is not really his fault he is tiny and so weak and the less said about his crossing the better. I think Wright-Phillips has had his chance and we should get rid whereas Kalou seems to be getting better and although he can be wasteful he always seems to be confident in his ability and always keeps going and yeah his finishing is poor (though improving) but at least he gets in the right positions. Are we over the Barnsley result? Kind of, its the kind of result you just want to forget about and just put it down to another cup shock this year but the Tottenham game can't and won't be forgotten.

I just don't think SWP is good enough for Chelsea - yes a Premiership player but not a top 4 or 5 team player. He could light up an average team but is too average for a good team.

I had a look and you are right and wrong!

He hasn't scored more than 2 in a single game, but a lot of his goals have come against what you might term lower class opposition.

I think you are being a bit harsh on Kalou, TBB. Kalou has primarily been playing as a winger for us and has only started as a striker on a couple of occasions. And I think playing on the wings, he has done well enough to keep out both SWP and Malouda.

Kalou would be in my starting 11 at the moment.

SWP is better as a CM I think. He had a spell there and did a real fantastic job hassling and harrying opposing players. His boundless energy also allowed him to bomb from box to box. He also packs a good pass quite often, so long as its not diagonal and nothing higher than a foot of the ground.

Kalou has been playing as a winger all season so that is harsh, and I seem to remember when he was our only fit striker at one point and he actualy got played up front he scored important goals for us.

Kalou easily. Don't know why Kalou is sooo underrated, he is the most underrated chelsea player. He is not only 2nd topscorer, but also our top assists maker. I also read somewhere we haven't lost a game when he starts and score twice as much. Fore what it's worth.

He is a player who should get more recignition.
