Where to watch?

Recommended Posts

Unfortunately I won't be in Moscow to watch the game nor in London. For next Wednesday's game I will be in the country of ice hockey and Stanley Cup. 346.gif

It's a long shot here, would anyone know any English bars that would show the game in Toronto, prefarably where Chelsea fans congregate?

I'll almost definitely be attempting to watch the match via a live stream, and because of my idiot ISP's Fair Use Policy, I've downloaded absolutely sweet f.a. for over a week, and won't be downloading anything much at all til after the Final.

When I lived in Toronto I used to watch the games in the Duke of Gloucester which is on Yonge Street (a few blocks North of Yonge and Gerrard St which is where I lived)

Well Mr & the Mrs and kids are off to Crete on Tuesday. Booked May last year without even thinking about when the CL final would be in 2008.

So Wednesday night - kick off will be 9.45pm out there so my wife and daughter will probably be having an early(ish) night whilst my son (10 & decked out in his replica kit) and I find a bar with a nice big screen and we hopefully watch CFC make history.

Look forward to catching up on all the posts in a couple of weeks.

COME ON THE MIGHTY CHELS!!!

I'll be watching on sky and advise anyone not going to try to do the same:

-andy townshend

-clive "red devil" tyldsley

-past experience of all english champions league games with itv

-clive "that night in barcelona" tyldsley

-david "chimbombowuba" pleat

-clive "ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY" tyldsley

-history

-tradition

-munich

-it's only right

-anniversary

-fitting tribute

-sir "alec"

-half time interviews

-remember that night? the one in barcelona?

-"corner kick. incidentally beckham took a couple that night in barcelona"

-class of 99

-modern heroes

-unquestionably the best player in the world

-clearly the best side in england by a distance

-purists

-scholes, heh, he doesn't mean to foul the guy, bless 'im

-a weird ambience, where you get the feeling that at any point at half time the presenter will attempt to sell you insurance

-pleat

-liverpool

-the kop

-sucking ball into net

-stretford end, recreated

-ticket sales, poor

-clive tyldsley

watching on itv would be bad for your health. although if they actually do sell you insurance at half time you'll be okay.

Chelsea Megastore Away Shirt

We haven't exactly been given a good choice have we?

Andy Gray... or ITV (all valid points G4, nail on head with all of them)...

Now if we had Butch Wilkins and Jeff Stelling in the commentry box... aye, that would be worth a view.

I would cut back on Sky sports in the close season, and subscribe to Chelsea TV to catch the friendlies instead, and get the sports again when new season starts.

With us being in the final, I have left it on another week, just to avoid watching it on ITV, I HATE watching us on ITV, it's the most anti-chelsea commentary I have ever heard!

I can't see there being a beamback at the Bridge, it would be far too late to say anything on it now.

andy gray's a bit of a tosser, granted, but he's given us praise in the past- he's annoying at times (who are roberto carvalho and paulo ferarri?), but not anywhere near the level of itv. you lot must have forgotten all the second leg at anfield itv coverage recently... the 2005 semi final second leg is still astounding. ofcom could have thrown the book at them for that one. plus tyldsley, and I'm not one for persecution complexes, is without question a manchester united supporter above all else.

come thursday there will be a bias media thread, and a no doubt 40007 complaints, mostely about itv. win or lose.

Cheers Loz,

I've just been driving through Yonge St and there loads of bars which are showing the game. It will give me a break from 24 hour NBA and Stanley cup.

Do me massive favour. Go into a bar called the Fuel Station (run down place) on Gerrard Street (just opposite the Neill Wycik College Hotel) and find out if Eddie still works there. If he is ask him if he remembers an English bloke called Laurenc-e and if he does (he might not as he is a huge alcoholic) tell him I said hello and ask him if my photo is still on the wall in there.

Even if they had something planned, I don't think they dare organise anything after last weeks success with fans gathering to watch the big screen. Especially if the rumours are true about Chelsea Headhunters being amongst the people causing trouble in Manchester. 317.gif

I'm really disappointed that the club isn't doing anything at the ground for this match. A beam back would be great. I really can't understand why there would have been any problems with it if it was restricted to season ticket holders and members.

As it is, I'll be watching at home with my son and his Man U supporting school mate. ( still wishing I'd gone to Moscow icon_sad.gif )

And me.

Had everyting in place (tickets & flights) but couldnt get travel arrangements from Riga to Moscow. I see one Chelsea fan had to fly to Riga last week just to purchase his rail ticket as its the only way to guarantee passage through to Moscow.

Now I'm gutted.

Going to have a BBQ tomorrow night, get the widescreen out in the garden and have one big party.
