Lamps to inter

Don't know what to think about this, depending upon what paper you read, Jose is off to Inter, then he's not, then he is and now this story comes out suddenly.

Lampard surely would prefer to go to a club managed by JM or may be he just wants a change of scene and he doesn't care who is the manager.

Although the club are uttering screaming denials about this, the old saying "no smoke without fire" springs to mind.

We should no more after the final when I think there will be a lot of player movements, up until then no one wants to rock the boat.

Chelsea's preparations for the Champions League Final were thrown into chaos on Monday night by claims that Frank Lampard has agreed a four-year deal with Inter Milan.

Both Chelsea and Lampard's representatives denied the story was true, with one Stamford Bridge official dismissing it as "fantasy".

But newspapers in Italy insist they have received unofficial confirmation from Inter owner Massimo Moratti, the suggestion being that Lampard will arrive once former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been confirmed as their new coach.

A well-placed insider claimed a deal has been agreed directly between Moratti and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and that Lampard will join for £8million, with a salary of £6m a season.

Inter have just secured the Serie A title for the third year in a row under Roberto Mancini but Mourinho seems to be in the background.

Chelsea officials reacted with incredulity when they touched down in Russia on Monday night. Peter Kenyon, the Stamford Bridge chief executive, denied there was any truth in the reports, as did other directors.

Lampard's agent Steve Kutner insisted his client's focus did not extend beyond Wednesday evening's Champions League Final against Manchester United. He also questioned how Lampard would have found the time to conduct such negotiations when he has had to deal with the loss of his mother, Pat.

"There is no substance to these claims," Kutner told Sportsmail. "It's simply not true. I have an excellent relationship with Inter Milan, and indeed Massimo Moratti, after taking Paul Ince there. But I have had no conversations with them about this and I can't understand where this is coming from.

"After Frank has played in the final and then returned from England duty, he will go away with his family. And after that we will have a discussion about football and I will then go and talk to Peter Kenyon about football."

The thing I don't like about all these Chelsea players allegedly transferring to inter (besides just that) is that inter and Italian football in general has been dodgy lately and I wouldn't want our players getting involved.

This year for example. Roma are catching inter and 6 days before the last game of the season Parma fire their coach. Granted Parma seemed to play pretty well, but it just seems like something was going on there, I thought they would let Inter walk over them to the title in the last game.

not sure what you're suggesting about parma- they needed a result, are in dire financial trouble, and now have been relegated.

rumour is lamps has rejected a contract with us for a 4 year deal at inter.

Well apparently Moratti has told various people that Mancini will be leaving after all. If that's the case then it must be odds on as to whom their next manager will be and, by extension, where Frank is headed. I think it may be the case that an attempt has been made to keep all of this underwraps for at least a few weeks but that the inevitable leaks have surfaced and that Moratti, when confronted yet again by the italian media has then made the Mancini comment. Because of that comment the papers have run with/turned "the possible signing of Lampard" comment (which has been a distinct possibility all year) as now being a done deal. Do the tabloids now run with the Drogs story to inter before tomorrow night as well? They must be sorely tempted.

Frank Lampard's agent has quashed speculation that his client has agreed to join Internazionale after Wednesday's UEFA Champions League final.

Reports in Italy suggested that Lampard, who has one year left on his Chelsea contract, had opted to end his Blues stay once their crunch clash with Manchester United in Moscow was over.

Speculation surrounding Lampard's long-term future at Stamford Bridge has been rife following the midfielder's decision to delay contract talks until the summer in order to concentrate on his football.

However, his agent Steve Kutner has now claimed that reports of Lampard heading to Serie A are well wide of the mark.

All quiet

"I don't know why Inter Milan would think this. Nobody has talked to me and I am good friends with the owner, Massimo Moratti," explained Kutner.

"I took Paul Ince there, I took Patrick Vieira there - if there was something on, I am sure I would know.

"The situation is that Frank has got a massive match on Wednesday, after which he needs to spend time with his family, because he has not had a real opportunity to do that since his mother died.

"He needs to get away and sort out his personal life and when he has done that we will sit down and talk about his future in football.

"After that, we will talk to Chelsea and that is as far as we have got - there is nothing in the pipeline and I don't know why this has surfaced now."

I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's true. I'm not sure that it will have any effect on the final though. It's not exactly a bolt from the blue. In many ways, if this is to be Frank and Didier's last game for us it may work in our favour as they will be desperate to go out with a bang.

Really? Not a clue?

I don't believe one word of it, and I usually do with transfer talk. He may be off to Inter, but in no way has Frank even thought about it in the last few weeks. Maybe when he's had a break and time to think about it with his friends and family he will opt to leave, but has a choice as big as this been made recently? I hardly think so.

i think theirs a very good reason its appeared now. something to do with the media disrupting our preperation maybe? or am i being cynical....

Of course that's the reason. They've all got devices capable of picking up the Internet in Moscow, JT isn't going to be too pleased when that's the first thing he reads on the eve of our biggest ever game.

If there's any truth in that, I have lost all my respect for the board. Most likely, like everyone else before me, I think it's just to unsettle the club before the final. I don't see how one of our key players could agree to a contract that quickly and before one of the biggest games for the club!

Space, you know that fee and this story are complete bollocks because this is Inter who overpay just like us and they value lamps at 8 million?!?!? Even we would DEFINITELY be able to get more out of Inter Milan for the best scoring midfielder in the world. A couple of years ago the price was 25 + Owen from Madrid, and there is no way Lamps has lost that much value. Let alone that we would sell him just before the biggest game of his carrer. Shear madness

FFS! All before the poxy CL final... can't say the press aren't doing their best to put us off.

So true, Gem. The bar stewards cant stand the thought of us winning the biggest prize in Europe, so they spout this trash. Pisses me off to no end

Just more propaganda aimed at trying to unsetlle the Mighty CFC from the West Ham/Liverpool loving c*nts in the press. Pis**d off because as usual they have won fark all icon_lol.gif

Actually think that Lamp's agent Steve Kutner (spelling) is actually pretty decent (as Agents go). I'm sure Frank will absolutely insist that CFC are respected.
