I'm with you on not a German, sorry but that is too much to stomach.

As for Jose, I think he would be mad to take it, he is too young for international management, he would have nothing really to do for about 2 years but meaningless friendlies and then the odd qualifier.

The press would crucify him no matter what he did it would never be good enough, poke into his private life and if he failed then his career would be permanently blemished by the experience, see Sven, Hoddle, Mcclaren et al.

I'm sure he could do a good job but it's for someone far older who has already done everything they want to do in club management and does not fancy being with players every day on the training ground - does that really sound what Jose wants now in his career?

I think O'Neill despite his protestations will take the job if it is offered to him.  You can tell his is dying to be officially asked.

Was joking about this with a friend who said he could pick Gerrard for England just to play him out of position. I said, to really piss Benitez off, just play him in the centre and make comments like "only an idiot would play him wide". And also ignore all requests from Rafa to only play his players for 45mins... Would be funny, all things considered, to see Mourinho take over England.
