WHen/How did he get injured? I know he was taken off late in the 0-0 game against Schalke but my recollection is that that was because he was rubbich, not because he was injured. That was the last game he played for us.

I though the real reason he hasn't featured was because his head wasn't right and not because of the injury that the club have claimed, but I can't remember where I heard that (one place was probably on hear but I've heard it a couple of times).

I have only heard that on here. The official line is that it was a knee injury that kept him out for a couple of months and that he was due to be in the squad against Newcastle but suffered a recurrence of the injury in training.

He'll play one come back game for us then head of to share a caravan with Marco Boogers!!!

Loz, he was probably pants in the game you say because he was carrying the injury. I've not seen any mention about his injury situation outside of the official club site.

To be honest, after a very bright start, he has been quite awful and that being because of an injury would make sense (and offer some hope).

Does anyone else get the feeling that his injury is made up, and it's more Mutu-ish (without the drug problem). As in trouble in his personal life maybe / trouble settling in London, or whatever? I for one wouldn't be surprised if he was part of the RD deal from Real.

On Chelsea TV before Christmas he explained that he had an injury in his left knee which was hard to diagnose as it seemed to clear up only to resurface again (similar to Neville G) he was in full training and was expected back on Boxing day but had another relapse anyway by all reports he trained fully last week and is expected to return sooner rather than later.

I may be wrong but i have a feeling that Malouda is suffering from Robben syndrome:, as in "only i and i alone will tell you when i'm ready to play, no need to ask a physician". He seems to be the type that would refuse to play at the tiniest sign of discomfort.

Now that his close friend Didier seems to be on the way out Malouda may turn into sulking mode,too.

I wouldn't be surprised if come summer he'll also want to leave.

I'm not prepared to write Malouda off yet, especially when we are lacking players out wide. He has only started 14 or 15 games in a new league and he has impressed on occasion. There is every possibility his injury is entirely genuine rather than some sort of psychosmatic issue - in fact the pschosmatic thing has only ever been a case of gossip, as far as I know there is no evidence of it whatsoever.

I have written before that I am still far form convinced by him and he isn't really the sort of winger I wanted us to bring in however I would like to see mroe of him before deciding it would be best to let him go.

He's a great player and I think he wont quit if Didi leaves. He managed to be the best in France without Didi so I think he's a big boy and makes his own decisions.

I don't think he is that naive but who knows.. If Malouda is indeed a big child and doesn't play because his house door is brown and not orange he might as well just go back where he came from. It is still really hard to believe that from him... I am ready to give him a proper chance to show what he's got.

Different players for different systems.

Under Mourinho in a 4-4-2 I beleive he started well and I beleive would have been a success. Under Avram Grant in a 4-3-3, his a bit of a fishy out of water and maybe better off at another club.

Fair call. But I still beleive what was expected under him under Mourinho and Avram Grant is different and he was better suited to playing under Mourinho's tactics than Grants.

If he leaves, then I say "F*ck him!" but until the point he himself comes out and says he wants to leave, then I feel we should be willing to give him a chance. Cut the guy some slack - we're sitting here judging a person on crap written in tabloids or on poxy websites or on other people of the same nationality. Why can't he be injured? Different training routines and faster football can have a major effect on the body - ask anyone who trains seriously - and the body takes time to adjust. Sure if he throws his toys out the pram and wants to leave at the end of the season (with Drogba) all's well and good crucify the guy, but at the moment he is a Chelsea player who just maybe needs the support of the fans. - Come on people get a grip!

exactly what I was saying. Oh and I think veron is a mercenarry but also a stupid signing. He didn't exactly set the world alight in Manchester, so why come to a league again that he has failed in. He was also pretty quick to leave the club when it suited him, and we still paid half his wages just to make him happy.

Same could also be said of Crespo, but Crespo had not tried his hand in the EPL prior. However, both of these sagas had a lot to do with stupidity on the clubs behalf

I remember Veron comming out and saying that he was disappointed that Man Utd chose to sell him, that he wanted to stay at the club and that he was only leaving because Man Utd chose to sell him.

I was suprised that Man Utd did cash in on him as though we did pay a fairly substantial fee for him, it wasn't THAT big of a fee and with Beckham just having been sold to Real Madrid it seemed Veron was going to be given a greater role at the club.

I hasten to add, that Veron wasn't as bad as people make out at Man Utd. He had a few outstanding games when the team played around him. It was just the fact that he didn't fit in with the other players allready at the club at the time which really held him back in his time at Man Utd. I honestly beleive with Beckham's departure, had Veron stayed, he would have had a far better second season at the club and that joining Chelsea was ultimately a mistake on his part (that said, if the manager comes up to you and says "you sold" what are you supposed to do?, do a Bogarde?)
