Xabi Alonso - New Chelsea Manager
We're scraping the barrel in free agents right now by contacting Wijnaldum. Alonso also spoke with Camara prior to the deal collapsing. Think it's evident he wanted a CM, and lord knows if him playing Gusto in midfield against Brighton was him telling the board he needs players.

Biggest Rival(s)
Sp*rs. It will always be Sp*rs. Closely followed by Liverpool & Celtic though, rotten clubs from top to bottom. West Ham are pathetic, I’d pity them if they weren’t so delusional (The Newcastle of London, they’re NOT a big club) Arsenal as a club I don’t actually mind, it’s just the latte sipping wet wipes who follow them that perplex me. I used to really hate Utd under Fergie but since he went they don’t fuss me either way. Born too late to really understand the Leeds rivalry in total honesty, they were a Championship/League One side growing up! Cardiff though, c**ts. I actually quite like City…

Xabi Alonso - New Chelsea Manager
Maybe I’m giving the SD’s/Ownership too much leeway but with how they’ve gone after most of the targets Xabi has asked for, the lack of urgency for a CM points to him either being happy with what we have or the right player not being available. Now the first part would be that, yes we’re all aware of the ‘fitness issues’ of Lavia & James, at this point it’s a punchline to a never ending joke, but maybe between Caicedo, James, Lavia & Barco, Alonso believes we can handle and tactically adapt for one game a week. Which if that is the case, I’d trust the opinion of a player who has played for such huge clubs as Sociedad, Madrid & Munich in that exact position. If it’s the second and we didn’t see the value in what was available and what we actually wanted wasn’t available, then fair play. We’ve spent the whole window clearing out ‘market opportunities’ from previous seasons. Quality over Quantity seems to be the approach.

The fact that he’s referring to us as “previous club” makes me even more glad he’s gone- Xabi Alonso - New Chelsea Manager
I dont know, but as others have said, weve changed a lot in a very short space of time. We have largely gotten rid of the players we didnt want at the club, have signed some experience and got an upgrade in Enzo with rogers, Palmer looks like he is happier again playing football. Perhaps Alonso is comfortable with the players he has at his disposal /Wants to try and shape a team out of what is here already. Can he improve players/ develop promising youngsters? Will his training sessions lead to as many injuries... Currently, there's a lot to get behind imo. Im really not fussed on missing out on a player after selling enzo. bank it and use it if needed another time in a position that needs attention.- Enzo Fernandez - Now sold to Man City

I think we definitely need another midfielder. I really, really don’t want to see Gusto in midfield again and that’s a real possibility with James and Lavia’s injury record. Wijnaldum, he’ll be fine for 1 season.- Xabi Alonso - New Chelsea Manager
Overall the club has produced a good window to back Alonso. Actually scratch that, a very good window. Goalkeeper, while it took a lot longer than many of us wanted, we went from Sanchez and Jorgensen to Martinez and Penders. That's a massive upgrade. Center backs we have got rid of the dross and Xabi Has Lacriox, Colwill, Hato, Acheampong, James and Fofana to select from in his back 3. Upgraded. Full backs/wing back is debatable based on how highly you rate Cucurella. We got Xabi Chavarria, no one can say he is not an Alonso signing as he breaks all of BlueCos previous policy. Either is a huge upgrade based on us having more numbers (Cucu out, Palestra and Chavarria in) or quantity over quality if you rate Cucu as world class. Wingers/attacking mids, all the same options but we swapped Garnacho for Rogers. Huge upgrade. Strikers kept our main man but switched the two back up's, huge upgrade. Now only midfield we have left ourselves worse off. Say what you like about Enzo but he has his uses and to replace him with Barco is a downgrade. Henderson for Essugo is hard to call. But we may still get a free agent or two for midfield so let's see. Overall 7.5/10 for recruitment and 9/10 for sales for me. Cannot be 0 out of 0 on sales as Garnacho, Sanchez, Badishille and Disasi may come back....- Enzo Fernandez - Now sold to Man City
I think losing a star player would definitely hurt. If Palmer or Caicedo left I’d be fuming. We only lost Enzo.- Lamine Camara
A French football pundit.- Xabi Alonso - New Chelsea Manager
I'm not concerned about missing out on 1 player, I am concerned about missing out entirely. We went from looking for 2 midfielders to getting none.- Random Rumours
Good league out there in Saudi. Goooooood leeeaaagguuuueee. We need options, sign up both Brozovic and Geo to 1 plus 1 deals. Give them a big enough pay packet and should be possible, then should mean no more Gusto in midfield. Then Scott and Wharton in the summer. Happy days.- Random Rumours
Bloke looking like Lampard in the Saudi League based on his stats.Today

Hmm @SydneyChelsea may have been on to something. Who do you prefer Sconnie. Geo or Brozovic?- Random Rumours

I can picture it already: Late deadline day bid to sign whoever plays in midfield at Strasbourg. "Here we go" announced by all the Twitter crew, only for Winstanley to pull out of the deal in the dying seconds 😂- BlueCo buy Chelsea FC
Yeah they 30mill or so currently put out is not including add ons like the 15mill in the Jackson deal, 5mill in Delap deal, loan fees or Garnachos possible permanent move to villa. It is based on what we have paid clubs, not including add ons in those deals, and what we have currently recieved.- Moises Caicedo to Chelsea! "Official"
I agree - the silence is not a good thing. On the other hand, I'm telling myself that if it was obviously an ACL or something catastrophic they would have been more aggressive on Monday and Tuesday.- Lamine Camara
Still gutted about this tbh. Strategy over the window has geberally been excellent. All the players not good enough, with maybe tbe exception of Fofana, Gusto, Gittens, and Neto have all moved on, most for a profit, with only 3/4 that have been loaned to to deal with at a later date. Great start to the season on the pitch, scoring goals, entertaining games. But this Camara situation and the midfield in general I just find infuriating. We clearly had £100m+ to spend going into last week. Now instead of coming in strong and making Monaco an offer they couldnt refuse last week. We spent £40m on another 18 year old we wont see for 12 months at the earliest, then fail to get any player in to replace Enzo. Honestly just screams of all the issues we have had over the last 4 years, and why players like Enzo wanted to leave in the 1st place. An injury to Caicedo now, and the season cluld very well be derailed, which could cost Xabi Alonso his job, we have seen this before. Just feels like 1 steps forward and 2 steps back. Lets hope for some luck with injuries, we need Caicedo to play every game, and we need Lavia, and James to be available for 75%. Then rectify this January 1st.- BlueCo buy Chelsea FC
I read the profit is close to £100m. At least there’s some money to go through this all over again in January 😂
