Schwarzer vs Courtois...
I used to get nervous when it went to Schwarzer just because he wasn't Cech. He's been very solid against Atletico and Liverpool giving me more confidence every minute.

YES! Schwarzer = superb. Kalas had a good debut and everyone stepped up and had a great game. The Double is on!

Liverpool v Chelsea (PL) 27/04/14 KO 14:05 BST
So happy. I was fuming at the 3 minutes added on, after we only got 1 against PSG with a half including two lengthy injuries. YES!

Two years ago tonight...
Brilliant! Hilarious that several of them either bet on the overs market or on Barcelona to win after Chelsea went 1-0 up in the first leg. £20, £400 etc were the numbers being bandied around . It's just funny how confident they were after the Ramires goal. "Just a blip don't worry". "Will be 7-1". "Irrelevant". "Barca will steamroll them in the second half". "I love it when I see the hope ripped away from them". There are so many more cocky comments about how Chelsea would get destroyed. At least one fan had decent insight "i hope this thread isn't quoted on chelsea websites". Reading those threads made me strangely happy. They had a point about Meireles' hair though...

Matic
Wouldn't bother buying a "Hazard 17" shirt next year then! If he wants the number 10, I can't see him not getting it. Very funny how Hazard made up his own rules in table football and was desperate not to lose. Good to see the banter between players as well as them both saying Hazard plays jokes on Salah, meaning he must be pretty integrated with the squad.

Your ideal starting XI next season..
No Winston Bogarde? At Chelsea for 4 years on a £40,000 P/W contract, 2000-2004 and only made 9 league appearances! I also thought Boulahrouz was never that bad to be honest.

Following Our Nearest and Dearest Rivals, 2013-14
Mata must be kicking himself. Left Chelsea to get some game time for the World Cup but now not even in the Utd starting XI or the Spain squad. He may well have got some time in the number 10 role as well, as Oscar was just going through a really bad run of 3 or 4 games just before he left. I still can't believe that Utd bought him for £37m and then play him on the wing though. And now he's not even in the team with Cleverley, Welbeck and Kagawa on the teamsheet ahead of him. I really think Man Utd would be better off playing 4-2-3-1 with Mata playing at number 10.

Away Day Thread?
I've never been to an away game. I wanted to go to a few this season, Fulham especially, but never got around to it. But I definitely will next season, no question about it. Which grounds/teams are the best to go to? Cheapest/best atmosphere? If Fulham stay up I will go to that one, with it being close so no extra transport costs. Hopefully either Spurs/Arsenal too, as well as one of the Manchester/Merseyside clubs plus any others. Any advice?

Cech or Courtois?
Who? Sunderland fans credit him with saving them from relegation last season and he has been good for Liverpool this season. I can't think of 5 in the Premier League that are better than him.

Your ideal starting XI next season..
I still think a better loan deal for next season would serve Wallace better if he can't get into Inter's team and he wouldn't get near ours (yet).

Champions League 2013/14
Definitely think there are better English referees than Howard Webb. Never understood the hype about him, even with Chelsea or Manchester United matches not included. I think Michael Oliver is the best English referee; he's incredibly young too.

Your ideal starting XI next season..
It's hard to include Wallace in an 'ideal' starting XI for next year when he has only played 4 league appearances for Inter Milan this season, who currently sit 5th in Serie A. Especially seeing as how well Dave and Ivanovic have done in the full-back roles this year and other potentially better options Chelsea have for next season.

The Davy Moysie Thread
Now 11/2 for Moyes to still be manager at Man Utd on 1st June 2014 with skybet. They must be pretty confident to offer those odds. 1/10 for him to be sacked by the end of May.

Your ideal starting XI next season..
Assuming CH = Championship (?), I think Thorgan Hazard, Traore and Piazon at least can definitely play at a higher standard than that. Although the Belgium Pro League is weak, you would think the player that won the best player in it (T. Hazard) would at least be good enough to play Premiership football. Traore and Piazon have also been good at Vitesse Arnhem this season and could easily get into a Premiership team.

Your ideal starting XI next season..
------------------------------------Courtois------------------------------- Azpilicueta-------------Terry-----------------Cahill--------------Shaw -------------------Matic--------------Kroos-------------------- ----Schurrle--------------Oscar-------------------Hazard ----------------------------Costa----------------------------- Bench: Cech, Zouma, Van Ginkel, Willian, Salah, Lukaku, Eto'o I think Azpilicueta/Shaw is a better full-back option than Azpilicueta/Ivanovic, especially for the long term. I find Ivanovic's crosses incredibly frustrating. Kroos is 99% a dream that won't happen but he's my ideal deep-lying play-maker to partner Matic. Van Ginkel would be my next option, from what I've heard/seen he's a good prospect. Prefer Schurrle to Willian as he's more direct and scores more goals. Willian is more hardworking and more defensive which could be good to come on when Chelsea lead. Costa would be my number one striker, then Lukaku as a back-up and Eto'o as a reliable third choice.

Our New Stadium
Congratulations. Calling Ancient Egyptians "American immigrants" is quite possible the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Yes. Yes you are.

Diego Costa to Chelsea
He's just come off injured against Getafe. Looks nasty. Good that he might miss the Champions League games, but hope it's not too bad.

Our New Stadium
As much as I'd hate to get into a "British vs American" argument on this topic, you really have shot yourself in the foot there. The World Wide Web was invented by Tim Berners-Lee, a Londoner, who chose not to patent it and instead made it freely available even though it could have made him a multi-billionaire, allowing American inventions which use the internet, however none would have been able to work or even be invented had it not been for the original invention of the World Wide Web. So an American invented the latest smartphone. It is far more impressive for someone to actually invent the original product than to just slightly improve a later version. Steve Jobs could not have invented the iPhone without past accumulated knowledge on telephones pioneered by those such as Alexander Graham-Bell, a Scotsman. A footballing analogy here would be it is more important and impressive to invent the Cruyff Turn, as Johan Cruyff did, than to be the best at it in the current age, as the current footballer could not have done it without the inventor. Yes I watch American shows and films, as Americans watch British shows and films. I watch them on my television, again, invented by a Scotsman, John Logie Baird. I also watch films at the cinema, with the history of film pioneered largely by three separate Londoners, Robert Paul, George Smith and Cecil Hepworth who each, working independently, invented separate things vital to the creation of film. So pretty much everything on your list was pioneered a Brit. Even the inventions that weren't (WiFi, Air-Con), were pioneered by other countries. Many ancient civilisations had their forms of Air-Conditioning as did many European countries in the middle ages. And WiFi is known to be pioneered by Dutch and Australian pioneers, Vic Hayes and John O'Sullivan (source - Wikipedia). You have been proved wrong. America is a modern country who's modern inventions are only the tip of an iceberg of inventions, largely by Europeans. I have a theory why you are doing this, although I may be wrong. My friend recently came back from America and reckoned most of the males hated him because he found it so easy to pick up girls due to his being British and apparently all the girls love the accent. Anyway, sorry everyone for going way off topic.

Football Manager 2014
I haven't bought a manager game since Total Club Manager 2004 with Martin O'Neill on the front. Anyone remember it? I played that for years and occasionally still play it now, must have accumulated thousands of hours of playing it over the years. I have some free time now, and I'm going to buy a management game. Is there much difference between FM 13 and FM 14? Bearing in mind the price difference is £15 (£3 and £18) which is a large proportion of my budget, being a student! Thanks

Manager of the Season 2013/14
Either Hazard or Sturridge will win young player of the year. They are both eligible and the clear favourites in my eyes. Hazard deserves it but Sturridge does get so much good press by the media. I think they are the only two in clear contention.

Player of the Season
Agreed. Hazard for me, then JT, then Dave. Cahill should be included in the poll ahead of Matic (only played for 3 months) and Willian IMO.

Manager of the Season 2013/14
I think Steve Bruce has bought the best in the Summer and January. Huddlestone and Livermore have been great all season and Shane Long and Jelavic look to be two good January signings at good prices. Tony Pulis has done really well getting a lot out of mediocre players. Mourinho and Rogers have also done well considering where Chelsea and Liverpool finished last year and where they are now without a hugely changed squad. For me, Brendan Rogers deserves it followed by Mourinho and then Bruce/Pulis. Not quite sure why David Moyes is in the poll!

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
No, he should not. But unfortunately, as no one will match his wages, he will just see out his contract probably. That's unless he gets pushed out of any contention for a first team spot next year and wants to play more football as he isn't getting any younger.
