  1. I know that I keep on bringing up the Rugby comparison, but they don't appear to have the same problems as we do. As I understand it, the on-field referee has to ask for a review, and the video referee doesn't get involved unless he does. I think that there is no automatic review. There most definitely isn't a review back to 20 or 30 passes before a score to try to find an attacker with a toe 4 mm offside. Also, it appear that the football VAR team's remit is to find a reason to disallow a goal. Rugby's appear to be more about confirming the on-field referee's suspicions. Generally, VAR (and refereeing in the UK) is either inept or corrupt. I think it's probably a bit of both, with the majority of referees not really being very good, but also some of them will allow a personal preference to influence their decisions in subtle ways, to the detriment of the game as a whole. This isn't saying that they are anti-Chels, but that they are just sh*te and partisan, mostly. Though, I can't see a Manchester-based team of referee and VAR monitor being allowed to oversee United against Liverpool without the scousers and the press screaming about it, and even more so if that team then made such obviously wrong calls as they did for the Mancs against us.
  2. I do love the world of Fantasy Football, where you can just look at top players, snap your fingers, wave your wad and there they are, all the while having all your "deadwood" snapped up at top, top prices by other, more menial clubs.
  3. He's not even the best passer in the Man City squad. D. Silva is that and, arguably the other Silva is a better all round midfielder.

Didn't we used to have some prat poster who always referred to Sarri as a tramp and never had a good word to say about him? Whatever happened to him?
  5. There you go, fixed it for ya Is it a bit like the rumours that Frank and JT tried to get AVB sacked, or that @coco once bought a round?
  6. It's a simple game, 'Arry, dubbin your boots on a Sunday, don't get too pissed on Saturday lunchtime and don't forget your kit, and never, ever more than one packet of No. 6 in any one training session. Oh, and remember it's always your best blazer on Cup Final day.
  7. These are professional footballers, they don't need to be instructed in how to play their game. Coaches can improve and teach, and managers can determine tactics and tell the players what those tactics are, but even at Sunday league level, players do not need instruction in how to play in their specialist position. No manager or coach can legislate for players slipping or being drawn out of position, but really and truly, in 90% of cases, the fact is that the player who scores just played better or got luckier than the defender, or, if the defender stops a goal, he played better or got luckier than the attacker. And in exactly 93% of those cases, it's got luckier.
  8. So you think that the manager is telling the team to go out and forget about clean sheets, and that the team go along with that, and you don't think that conceding goals is, for the most part, a matter of just sometimes sh*t happens, a long series of actions that all come together to the benefit of an opponent? Really, most people need to realise that real world football is NOT like playing FIFA whatever year on your X-box.
  9. But, but, but we want him - Why didn't our sh*t board just buy him and force him and his agent and his mum to come to us??? Waaah, waaah, waaah!

Oh how we are crying out for Mikel at the moment.
  11. You know I'm just a giggling bundle of joyous fun, all the time, Monkey. Look up Yorkley in the Oxford English Dictionary and it says "An effervescent optimist, full of the warmth of human kindness, compassion and true love and respect for all his fellow man (scousers and pikies excluded, obviously) and with a deep and affirming tolerance for those less intellectually gifted"
  12. Who else do you think he should be picking for the squad, then? I can see Batshuayi is a mistake, but who else? Serious question.
  13. OK, Ernie, exactly what strikers were available and willing to move did our sh*te board miss out on buying, and exactly why is it that you think they didn't buy them? There is nothing like a bit of sensationalist knee-jerk over-reaction to brighten up my day. Obviously you don't watch Chelsea much. That wasn't even the worst performance this year, and probably not even the worst performance this month. Get a grip on reality and stop being such a diva queen.
  14. Fair enough. What you actually mean @Nibs is that the ref and VAR actually robbed us of 3 points last night. Neither disallowed goal should have been, and Maguire should not have been on the field to score their second. Ref also bottled a couple of reasonable chances to give second yellows to mancs, whilst managing to book Zouma for a perfectly good challenge because their girly-tart rolled around on the floor a lot. I'm not a great one for conspiracy theories, I simply believe that a weak and partisan referee from Manchester took whatever chance he could to influence the game in their favour, much like Clattenburg admitted to against the Spuds a few seasons ago.
  15. Not shocking but gave it away more than I would have hoped. Pedro did a lot of the hard graft, shame his only outlet for most of the match was MIchy, who was just sh*te.
  16. Oh for f**ks sake - we're 4th in the league. Get a fucing grip. Sacked by now! I agree with all of that except for the bit about Pedro. I thought he did OK tonight. Oddly, my man Willian let me down a bit tonight.
  17. I expect it was all a bit too close to home for you scotch women ?
  18. But then, equally, if he is a sh*te as you and many others claim, why are so many top level managers playing him at all?
  19. And what did Pandora think about that? Did she gush?
  20. isn't that Google a wonderful thing -aiding argumentative buggers since 1998
  21. Look at you with your facts and reasonableness, FFS!

  23. I just find it strange that someone goes to the trouble of signing up to this forum just to post that link. Suspicious in the extreme to me, but then maybe I'm just a cynical old sh*t.
