How to end this season ?
Basically, no footballer should be tested until every NHS and Care home worker has been tested and the capacity is there to test them again on a regular basis, several times a week, AND the test results are returned within 15 minutes, as they are for, for example, ALL White House staff in the US, members of our government and the royal family. If the capacity to test is there, it should be used for people on the front line, trying to save lives, not on footballers, politicians, actors or newsreaders. And it doesn't count as a "test done" just to put a home testing kit in the post.

The clothing we wore to the football back then.
I think that's more likely in the early-ish 1970's

Didn't they then start to find players infected on testing, and a whole squad (or very nearly) had to be quarantined again?

I'd rather a billionaire gave up 1% of his or her wealth to provide enough and effective protective equipment to ALL of our front-line carers, but that's just me putting people's health before football.

That bolded bit is just wrong. No premier league player ever needs to work again, but, if they did, they can always get another, different job, in the same way as you or I would have to if we got made redundant, or found we had a condition that meant we could not pursue our chosen career. This pandemic might well trigger a vast rethinking of football salaries, and, ultimately, if the multi-millionaire players of the top leagues aren't willing to contribute to saving their club, you and I both know that there are hundreds of other players who would play for their favourite club for a fraction of those salaries. And, if the quality of football should drop a bit because of that, well at least all the w**kers who spend match-day threads moaning about flicks, tricks, back-heels and step-overs will be a bit happier.

Last Movie You Watched
Aaaah, Sven Hassel. I haven't even thought about his books since the 70's I used to read every one as soon as it came out in paperback. Sadly, I didn't think to keep books back then. I'll have to have a look round Amazon now. You're probably going to cost me a lot of money, @Stretford Ender, you sh*t!

The next bands you are going to see?
Now been postponed until May 2021 😞 Let's hope the bugger is still alive by then, he must be at least 183 years old.

Bank of England announced this morning that this is the worst recession EVER. That will obviously affect football just as much as everything else. The world really will be changed for the worse for years to come, I think.

What TV Show Are You Waarching?
So, two differing views of the review. Opinions and arseholes, eh? My favourite bit was "All of this happens in the pilot episode. It's like they took a two-year-old to see The Shawshank Redemption, asked him to recount the plot three weeks later, wrote down everything he said, and filmed it." I loved the first series of Prison Break, except for the ending which was so obviously a set up for series 2. This is a disappointing phenomenon with modern-day TV, a very good story which should make a great series or a very good film gets stretched way beyond sense purely to cram in the cash. All the very best telly series knew exactly when to end, some of the very great telly had a wobble in the middle series and then came back even better, and most good or mediocre telly has one good series in it, but stretches it out till it becomes, well, like um, Prison Break series 2 onwards.

The vast bulk of the salaries of top professional sport goes to the "talent", and the players are still being paid, according to all reports, so they will still be paying the minimal amounts of tax that their accountants can manage to get away with.

How to end this season ?
If City's ban is enforced, and the season isn't voided, then the standings as is will apply, dippers win the league and United get CL, Wolves and Sheffield get Europa League and the other muppets get f**k all. If the season is voided, it's dubious to say the least that they would use last year's league positions to decide who goes into Europe. If they did that they would have to crown City champions again and all of the other stuff that goes with ending the season. And, finally, it's also highly possible that there will be no European competitions in this calendar year, at the earliest, it's possible that there won't even be a domestic league in the form we know it this year.

I'm not sure why you keep on punting this. Sheffield and Wolves stand above Spurs and Arsenal as the table stands at the moment, in 6th and 7th respectively. How are they missing out whilst "Spurs and Arsenal are rewarded for their worst season's for over a decade with CL football" https://www.theguardian.com/football/premierleague/table I find it endearing that you have such a soft spot for those gritty northern underdogs, but they have punched way above their weight this season, had a blinding season, much like Blackburn did one year, but it really doesn't mean that much. Why do you think they are being hard done by, or discriminated against?

What TV Show Are You Waarching?
We started in the first episode and didn't like it at all. Was a bit like a lot of previous things, and I think at the time it appeared to be trying too hard, so we gave up. Might go back to it on Iplayer. We very nearly did the same with The Wire, but there wasn't the variety of other stuff on at the time so we persevered with it, TF.

BBC news just confirmed that the Dutch league has now been abandoned/cancelled (they were a bit vague about how it would be recorded) Can't see ours being any different, really, even though it would grieve me desperately for those poor scallies up in Liverpool to miss out on their only realistic chance of a Blackburn Rovers moment in the last 30 years. Now, where did I put that sarcasm smiley?- RIP Peter Bonetti
The coaster on my bedside table is a pottery reproduction of a Chelsea program cover. It is from the 1968-69 season and cost 1 shilling. The match was Wednesday 29th January (7.30 p.m.) and was Chelsea V Preston North End F.A.Cup {indecipherable} Round Replay. The main picture is Peter Bonetti and the text says "Congratulations to our "Top-cat" Goalkeeper, PETER BONETTI,who reaches a career milestone tonight - his 400th first-team appearance for CHELSEA" A friend worked in the Chelsea marketing and promotions department and she used to give me stuff like that for Christmas and birthdays :)- Lofty's Wall of Sound - What are you listening to?

The only benefit to completing this season is to allow half of the population of Liverpool to rob the houses of the other half when they are away down the West Derby Road, celebrating the fact that they really really are just as good as Blackburn and Leicester, it's just taken them several years longer to get there. - How to end this season ?
