I'd held out help on this guy for longer than most here, but- if the ambition seriously is to challenge for the premier league- he absolutely isn't the man. Such a poor performance today and- most unforgivably- the players weren't pushing at all at 0-0, nothing created/zero pressure against one of the worst form teams in the league.
Had massive momentum after last week to prove he's the one to take us forwards after last week and has absolutely shat the bed. Nowhere near good enough.

A man who rarely gets his flowers, but has come in since last season and a really added depth to out defence. Absolute class today in front of the Fulham fans. Get in Uncle Tos

I must say i really do think some on here will NEVER accept the new ownership and are torn between being right and wishing the team well.
After the initial, what appeared to be a mad spending spree on young unproven players i was as sceptical as most on here. But we do have to bear in mind that these players are on small wages (relative to others we've signed in the past) and long contracts. The benefit of this is beginning to show this season, two prospects who helped us along but aren't top, top quality have been sold at substantial profit.
i see a few more going that way this summer too, Jackson being the main one (hopefully), it's likely the profit from him will have paid for Joa pedro and some of Delap which i see as a brilliant piece of business.
I honestly think after the CWC win on top of the two bob conference we are looking very good for next season, we actually look potent up top now.
Along with the ones that don't make it but still turn a profit there is these to consider..
Palmer, Caicado, Enzo, Cucu & a quickly improving Neto all of whom are turning into top class players and only two of those were big, big money.
All in all i'm currently happy, as an ol' duffer that's watched and supported Chelsea for coming up to 60yrs with all it's ups and downs for me the futures bright and bet your arse the others are not laughing at us anymore, unlike Manure !!

I think because we're sick of signing players for the future we're getting too caught up on his age. If he was 23 and had the characteristics and reputation I think people would be a lot happier about it. I think a difference between him and some of the others we've signed is it's not as if this is a lad we've plucked out of a South American league or someone's youth academy. He's a regular starter for Sporting Lisbon who are a good side and he's also just gotten his first call up to the Portuguese national team at the age of 17 so I think it's unfair to tar him with the same brush as a lot of the other kids we've signed.

A hugely frustrating player, but scored the key goal today - after missing a few sitters - which is massive, shows big character. Doesn't deserve (most of) the criticism he receives, still relatively young but has been decent so far.

Can't believe the abuse this guy gets. He's a really good player who needs time to mature into the role.
Players, especially strikers, usually need a few seasons to hone their game. That's what's happening with Jackson. Really good player, needs time and games. Get behind him.
