  1. Insidious 3 would rate it 6/10. Was marginally better than the second with more substance to the storyline and generally more scary at times. But still doesn't compare to the first instalment in the series.
  2. Gangland is a very intriguing documentary series so many episodes giving an insight into gang cultures in America. Each episode focuses on a different gang and their origins etc. My favourite documentary/movie is called undefeated it features on a high school 'football' team in America. Who lose a lot of games and this focuses on their golden generation who looked to turn things around. Really is a very emotional documentary.
  3. footballoholic To complete my midfield, Javier Mascherano. Superb choice
  4. Some of these teams are already looking very strong. But players are only as good as the formation you put them in.
  5. I would happily go in to the season with that.
  6. De Bruyne was the one player I had really high hopes for. As he impressed me a lot a few seasons ago. I thought he would be our Lampard replacement but it wasn't to be.
  7. Cheers Barak81 and Dan_cfc for taking my future picks. Haha tbf would have felt guilty picking Suarez.
  8. It is very possible but the only issue would be we'be been playing Azpilicueta as a left back and he really has made that position his own. But we'd be hoping he can continue that form at right back which is a position he wouldn't have played for a fair few years.
  9. Agreed very good price for a player who will hold that position for a long time to come if he continues to develop as he is. Saying that upgrading Glen Johnson isn't as hard as it sounds really is it?
  10. Ba was more than capable of competing as his scoring record in the league showed. Drogba returned on a free. Falcao would be on wages in excess of 100k and Monaco would likely expect us to sign him for a fee close to 30million if by some miracle he scores more than a few goals. Costa's 25 and was the top scorer in a team that won the league in Spain the season before we signed him. Fabregas has always been an excellent distributor of the ball which is what we required in midfield. So no I have nothing against those signings. But I can't justify signing a striker on loan with option to buy who has shown nothing at club or international level for almost 2 years now.
  11. David Luiz, Mata and Ramires were all 23 when we signed them. They were all players to build the squad around in the future. Not players who had been on loan at title rivals who then refused the opportunity to sign them. Ba and Meireles were signed as stop gaps.
  12. 12.5 seems very reasonable considering his English and his been an important part of that sturdy Southampton backline. Weren't we linked with him over the course of the season. Surprised we didn't make an offer
  13. First of the two is the Serbian brick wall Nemanja Vidic. Needs no explanation. And the second is another midfield sprayer in the form of Xabi Alonso. Can never have too many midfield sprayers. Jonty: Henry, Cantona, Makelele Teritus: Keane, Giggs, Ferdinand footballoholic: Ronaldo, Hazard, Essien Northern Monkey: Van Der Sar, Zola, Wise dan_cfc: Lampard, Vieira, Bergkamp barak81: Drogba, Robben, Matic ForeverCarefree: Terry, Shearer, Aguero Chelsea190512: Scholes, Ash. Cole, Vidic, Xabi Alonso
  14. But some of those teams I.e Barcelona Bayern have a good contingent of players from their own nation. Bayern's first XI you could pick out Neuer, Boateng, Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Gotze, Muller. Barca you could have Pique, Alba, Busquets, Iniesta and Xavi up until this season and to a lesser extent now Pedro. Messi is a La Masia prodigy so he is essentially one of their own too. Arsenal also have a good sized contingent of English players too who feature in the first team. Wilshere, Gibbs, Ox, Walcott, Chambers, Welbeck, Coquelin, maybe Ramsey could be included as one of their home grown as they signed him at 17. Even United have Smalling, Jones, Carrick, Young, Rooney, Shaw, Blackett, McNair. Atletico have Koke, Gabi, Juanfran, Mario Suarez, Moya, Torres, Saul, Cani, Raul Garcia. Juventus have Buffon, Chiellini, Bonucci, Barzagli, Marchisio and Pirlo up until now. In comparison to these teams at Chelsea it's only Terry and Cahill who we see featuring frequently in the first team. Ake makes sparse appearances. Zouma we bought a season or two ago. So he can hardly be classed as our prospect. I think the amount of English/home grown players in our team could and should be addressed.
  15. I would like to see Sterling in the team of course his price is because he's English. But his ability would only improve the team on the right wing and I think an attacking trio of him, Hazard and Willian as a number 10 would be very dangerous.
  16. Jonty: Henry Teritus: Keane footballoholic: Ronaldo Northern Monkey: Van Der Sar, Zola dan_cfc: Lampard, Vieira barak81: Drogba, Robben ForeverCarefree: Terry, Shearer Chelsea190512: Scholes, Ash. Cole
  17. They all smell like Jose transfers.
  18. No team has a truly world class second keeper that I can think of. Madrid have Navas and Casillas. Casillas being booed by his own fans because of his many errors. Barcelona have Bravo as the first choice and Ter Stegen as the second choice, this works because Bravo is 32 and Tee Stegen is the younger at 23 so he knows he has time to prove himself. At Chelsea it's the other way around with Cech being the older of the two and firmly second choice he doesn't exactly have a chance of becoming first choice again. So you can't begrudge him moving to another team.
  19. Witsel is class, everytime I see him play he imposes himself on the game works very hard and as I've read I think a 3 in midfield matic, witsel and fabregas in front of them would be a formidable trio. Fabregas imo doesn't work next to matic in the bigger games as he is crowded out doesn't have as much time on the ball as he'd like.
  20. A few seasons ago our signings were mostly spot on and I was really happy with the direction we were going in buying youth and bleeding them in to the team. For instance Azpi, Oscar, Hazard and et al. But it now seems we just want short term players again for a quick fix.
  21. I'm a fan of the old school midfield metronome so for that reason I'll take the ginger dynamo Paul Scholes. Now for my second pick I shall take the ever reliable Ashley Cole.
  22. September looks a difficult month...
  23. Doesn't seem like the kind of guy to sh*t on everything he established at Atletico. Becoming their top scorer in the season they turned the tables in Spain and won the league. He would just be tarnishing the name he made by joining Real. So I see 0% truth in that story. Perhaps true about missing Spain but if that was the case he'd be offered to Atletico in exchange for someone like Koke or Griezmann. Club wouldn't hold on to a player who doesn't want to be here.
  24. We should just buy whoever we want. The homegrown rule is a load of bs anyway, wouldn't be surprised to see it out the window like with what's happening in regard to FFP. They need consistency not just chop and change rules in order to suit whoever they need.
