  1. If you are not always looking to improve, then you're asking for a season like last season. All well and good to say everything is fine from a results point of view, that doesn't mean there aren't issues.
  2. Not sure how to break the quote up as you have so apologies for the bulk text. I don't think Hazard's position has anything to do with Alonso's when Alonso is ball watching in the middle of the park after we have turned the ball over. If Hazard has been told to remain further forward, then Alonso would be privvy to this information and should position himself accordingly, which leads to my next point. Many of my examples are in his thread or the post match thread, however as a general observation (and granted not always). Turnovers for a wing back are crucial, when we turn the ball over, the wingback is important because their position holds two meanings. It takes Alonso far to long to move back into position (related to my first point) as he doesn't move quickly enough and can't see our own attack breaking down. I don't mean slow paced here, I mean slow to shift everything he is doing. That is of course when he is not involved. When he is involved, that's where his speed is an issue. I fully support him going forward, but when the attack breaks down he doesn't have the pace to then cover his defensive duties. Manchester United game I think it was where G.Neville sprayed him for it, I've mentioned that once or twice on this forumn at the time of the game. I agree, pace is often hyped up a lot, but it's important for him in his current role. Moses form has dipped a little, not to a poor extent, but rather to an Azpi extent. He's not playing poorly, he's just doing his job without lighting up the world. Moses finishing has also been very poor at times, but my points werent to do with the right side, they were to do with the left. I do however have much more confidence in Moses at both ends of the park.
  3. I'm aware the team has done very well in that time (and Alonso in a couple of games). For the most part though he's been out of position a lot, slow to pick up on danger, slow paced in general (not a flaw that he can help, but better to have pace in that position), wasteful when forward and to a lesser extent untidy in possession.
  4. Totally forgot about Nathan thought, could he be a shot at LWB for us?
  5. They'd be relegated. Not because there isn't talent there, but many don't have the hardened minds and bodies of senior football.
  6. And when it breaks down, it will be Emenalo's fault
  7. Here's the response then. http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/rfu-will-not-allow-chelsea-to-play-matches-at-twickenham-stadium-while-stamford-bridge-is-being-a3444571.html
  8. That's terrible news. We'll have to look elsewhere for an upgrade to on Alonso then.
  9. Talk of him being loaned back to a Brazillian club. Seems a strange move considering he has played premier league football at two clubs now and is still only 20. Surely there would be takers closer to his adopted home? Even in Spain? Musonda's first season at Betis was great, a similar club could work well.
  10. Odd. I'd play Kenedy ahead of him.
  11. Long term deals literally mean nothing if we offer them a longer one with more money.
  12. Why? How is it that Ashley Cole can leave Arsenal for Chelsea, RVP Arsenal for Man U, Torres Liverpool for Chelsea, Jack Colback Sunderland for Newcastle... I honestly think Sanchez is attainable, he's not British and therefor doesn't have the legacy commitment a player like Kane would have.
  13. Honestly rather be relegated
  14. Wouldn't take Suarez in a million years. Can we please have some sort of dignity as a club at the expense of cantering to the finish line in the CL? Surel
  15. One player that was just alright in the French second division actually. But your point is my point. How did he flop? Very few players can come on in the last 5 minutes every week and score.
  16. nGolo Kante was a a vital member of league 2 side Caen in their rise to the top division of that league. 2 year later he was the PL best player. The same logic can be applied in reverse Bobby. Regardless of whether I rate him or not, what I can't say definitively is that he is not up to playing in the PL, as he was simply never given a chance with us and was coming off an ACL reco when at United, so I grant him some slack.
  17. Haha that is sensational
  18. Be interesting to see how far Monaco go in the CL then and how he fares.
  19. He's been good and his team excellent this season, seeing off Tottenham twice is no mean feet, he didn't score but still played well, so I'm not sure how that constitutes being done.
  20. Never got a proper run of games with us, really can't expect the world from him coming on with 5 minutes left every game, not to mention it would have been tough in the dressing room last year.
  21. He (and that whole Monaco team) have been really good this season
  22. Easily Alonso's best game for us, but I thought that was Matic best game for 2 years and was vital in controlling the midfield
  23. No one wins in that scenario
