A lot of the Ancelotti year was pretty mint

It's making a huge difference right now. I want it back but must admit, I'm loving not being hamstrung by having to roll out an unusual left back or a questionable midfield pairing just to keep players fresh. This break in CL after so many years has made me realise how hard it is to win multiple trophies in a year, let alone 1. I would prefer to be in it than not though.

I don't really think there is anyone knocking down the door for this role just yet, but I don't think the squad would think too highly of a new player of great experience and quality coming in and being given the captaincy. Dave or Luiz for mine.

Loan system is great, really finds out which players are willing to put their head down and work, and the ones that aren't.

Tough one, we were really tight at the back (think they only had one shot on target?) so was going to go with Luiz but felt Matic was probably a bigger key to that. So went with Matic. Special mentions to Hazard and Moses. Pedro had zero impact and Alonso was worrying, though up against Tadic.. which is not easy.

We hardly put out the youth? Aina was the only one. Chalobah has 100+ senior appearances. Would have preferred to play a couple more to be honest. Played near a first team and didn't play to any discipline while I was watching. Second half/bit of the first. Haven't voted because I was only half watching. Was disappointed with Oscar/Willian.

Dave can kick it with either foot, he's said it and showed it quite a bit. Just because it's not his natural foot doesn't mean a person of his talent can't master it.

Hate that, some people are just twats. I'm critical but critical of everyone equally, or at least try to be.

Some strange MOTM votes in here. I know you don't want to be critical with such a fantastic results, however I thought our midfield were fairly absent in the game. All our attacking was done through the wings. Hardly noticed Matic until his superb pass, he's not the intercepting/tackling machine he once was. Same goes for Kante, barely an interception. Thought Pedro/Moses were fantastic. Gave the nod to Pedro. Top job for being on his toes in the first minute and what a great assist to Kante.

I must say, I always thought he was a one trick pony. Very good at that trick, but limited in many aspects. I've been impressed by his athleticism this season and he is effing dangerous anywhere around the box

Just the one paper reporting on Leicesters title defense being the worst in history so far. Strange, I swear they were all reporting it last year. Can't see Liverpool losing tonight unfortunately.

I'd be tempted to keep it the same but can't let Saturday's absolute piss take by Leicester mask the fact Cahill has been horrendous for much of this season. I'd back us to score, but I think we'll need to keep a clean sheet to get the win here.

I don't remember Annelka or Alex being shunned into the 23's, but can certainly remember Malouda.. not sure which manager that was? Must be a recipe for success if Pep is doing it, I'd say Joe Hart would have had the same treatment had Torino not stepped up.

Has there ever been another manager who sends seasoned players, who are not quite dead and still have something to offer, to train with the under 23's just because he doesn't like them?
