He ran most of the pitch back to make up for a mistake. If Ozil did that he’d be under suspicion for doping. I don’t think he was laid back at all, we were just poor with the ball all over the pitch and had zero tempo, he was hardly going to remedy that out wide.

Thought he was ok. He was quite isolated on the wing and we were not passing well, pressing well, and the system wasn’t right, Brighton looked better than us for long periods which isn’t down To Kai. What was noticeable is that he’s pretty calm on the ball, is quick for a big guy, and was willing to get stuck in to make up for errors.

Should have been a squad player. Was a first team player for too long here, he put in the level of performance expected at the top level for a month a season, which would make pundits ask why isn’t he starting every week. No wonder we’re so up and down with our competitiveness year on year when Willian is one of your best players.

Getting rid of Willian is fantastic. It’s a message that mediocre is no longer the standard we accept.
